The Basics Of Growing
the basics so as to start are:seeds, soil, hps lights, water and ventilation.........
it is easier to start growing indoors for various reasons.....i would suggest firstly to pick the space you are going to grow into, then depending (mainly) of height restrictions you can choose the strain of cannabis you would like to cultivate ie...if your grow room has ceiling at 6 ft you'd better get an indica type, this type of plants stay relatively short to medium size....max height up to 6ft tall.
Sativas on the other hand grow much taller than 6ft, i think their average height is around 8ft tall.
Being a newbbie i would suggest to start the grow on soil....good quality soil with around 50%humidity, pH = 7 and sterilised....be careful the soil you need is NOT MIRACLE GROW....you need aeriation so as the water drains fast and the roots will be able to breathe....also, one more thing to do is to use LARGE pots for your plants....
Light:get one HPS (high pressure sodium) lighting unit....with this light you'll be able to do start to finish...if your budget is not limited use a MH (metal halide) bulb for vegetation and an HPS bulb (for wonders use SHP-TS bulb) during flowering....you can get one 250watt HPS unit at www.insidesun.com 250watts for $US 80 i think.....if you're after growing around 4 plants this is the best for you.
Ventilation is very important, air has to circulate, going round, never stand still as this makes humidity rise.....cheap solutions include open windows, opening of closet door (if the grow room is there) and even computer fans....expensive but nevertheless best solutions are blowers, proper ventilation systems etc.....
Remember to have a fan blowing always air on your plants...this allows them to grow more compact and not as tall......
Starting from seed, normally, you will need to feed your plants with fertilisers around the 30th day of their life....personally i fed them twice during vegetation while during week 5...you can tell when ur plants need something by looking on their leaves.....a very helpful web site featuring plants problems pictures and solutions is www.overgrow.com
Finally during vegetation optimal temperature (without added co2) is 29 celcius while in flowering is 23 celcius.
RULE:never overwater
Happy growing

check out discount-hydro.com. they are the best shipping company for supplies. NOTE: remember to never ship items to grow site, use cash when u can, and maybe have someone not associated with the operation order for you. just be smart and sneaky. the less people that know you are growing (preferably no one) the better.
