    Need Comercial hydro info.

I am trying to find out just what the big hydro gardens are doing to keep clean. This is not about MMJ. Any hydro on a big scale.

The info I'am looking for has to do with the lab clean setup. You go one of two ways ultra clean or beneficials. I know all the big gardens do not run bene's. I'm finding some amazing products for cleaning systems and work areas but no info on running in systems and I know they do it.

Oxidate - Zero-tol are the two I'm looking at. They look amazing and organic.

Physan is the only other thing and bene's

This is all over what was thought to be root rot and is cyanobacteria slime.
I think alot of people suffer from this trying to understand why the rot treatment isn't working.

Thanks but I'm not seeing anything there on keeping a system clean.
Maybe I'm missing something. Well off to the hydro store.

    Hey LOC
Can she at least be a LOOKER?

Seeing as how I can't find the site,I think it was a article in either "Maximum Yield" or "Urban Garden" magazine

the two cleaning items they talked about were an enzyme which they ran all the time,(probable hygrozyme)and 10%H2O2 which they ran after harvests as a stearlizer, but now is very hard to find.

most large farms are just now going from feed to drain. to tanks with recirculating solutions, . it is becoming an enviromental nightmare, with higher amounts of fert. chemicals showing up in drinking water supplies.

Well I'm not finding much. Zero-tol and Oxidate are the two main organic cleaners. There are others like physan20 but not organic.

The real problem is the cyanobacteria or blue green algea or red algea is good and bad. It coloninizes on the roots and looks like root rot. All attemps to cure root rot fails or gets worse. It is killing the roots by choking them off with slime. Most of the time the good keeps the bad in check. Chlorine and hydrogen peroxide will not kill it.

I know large hydro farms must run something in the systems to keep them clean but try ang find it. Maybe they don't want me to know what I'm eating ?

So I will go with the physan clean out to kill the cyanobacteria and then the bene's with Great White and see what happens.

I will start another thread to show results.

The maid can be a looker but that won't keep it clean long. LOL
maybe a redhead with huge tracts of land. LOL

have you ever heard of "frequency imprinted water"? yes I know

a person handed my some samples of a mite spray and a mold and mild control. made by a company called Yeti enterprises inc.
    out of Portland Ore.
claim is chemical free just special frequency imprinted water

its called "That Stuff" only samples its not for sale yet

even 10% H2O2 won't kill it?? and hygrozyme doesn't eat it??
    I'll pass

You could run a sump with its own dedicated powerful waterpump, turn this into a venturi and invert it so it fires back into the container. This will create a turbulent environment with high dissolved oxygen levels. you may be able to filter most of your unwanted matter through mechanical means not unlike a venturi protein skimmer. This allows a volumous, controlled, and efficient means by which to mix gases into your solution to manage pathogens, particulates, and anything else that is disrupting things. High oxygen levels help if enough of the water is cool and circulated well and thats what this does. If you got the right venturi design and powerful enough water flow, you can just about do anything.

You can use the airline as a vacuum, and suck up debris around the area and process it in the sump just like a wet-vac but attached to your system. If you design your sump correctly it will actually reduce on your maintenance because most debris around these sites are either medium or organic matter.

You can run a siphon and use your sump to siphon out debris from beds buckets etc. This is an easy way to clean particles out of your system while the plants are in position, just thumb the hose inbetween beds so you don't have to recreate the siphon each time. I run a dedicated siphon tube out of my sump for this purpose.

You can use the venturi vacuum effect to atomize water and air together if you are hitting near mach speeds with your rate of flow. If you go over mach speeds you can increase your mix rates again.

You can mix ozone directly into your water through the venturi intake with an ozone generator, or just as well use my favorite "hydroxyl radicals".

If your pump is strong enough you can induce cavitation through your venturi or water pump for catalyzed chemical processes ie oxidization.

The low cost of a venturi and added benefit of extra water circulation from the pump make it a good investment for large scale crops. Check out applications for venturis in wastewater management, septic, or pond/lake aeration.

    Hope it helps...

That Stuff sounds like something out of Star Trec. Space weed is grown in it. LOL.

Herb I will be taking some of your idea's for mixing O2 in. That is part of what caused this problem. My partner did not think we needed the air stones and they were not running for some time because of no empty plug for them. He would plug it in just when I was there. I have been racking my brains out tryng to cure root rot and thinking all things are good so why. There is not much talk or many people that know what this really is. If normal treatment of root rot does nothing then this is it. It's not as fast as the rot. The rot just kills it all soon, it just dies off quick. But this stuff, it just slimes up your roots and slowly chokes them off. You can make it to the finish but with very poor results.

Thaks Guy's I'm waiting for the physan and bene's.
