Using a single tote is much like table grows,so you likely won't have issues.

I prefer to use seperate containers however as it allows for individule plants to be dealt with on thier own.
If you have root problems,they dont spread to all your plants and it allows you to feed and water the plants at different levels if some dont take as much or need more than others.

I'd agree with this. With single pots you can also move them around to get that even canopy.

Having individual pots in a grow like that ^^ would be a PIA, but with only 6-8 pots, I think the advantages of separate pots outweigh possible problems from using a single container for all.
