I'm no expert but  generally a coop or a collective is an outgrowth from a care giver, generally on a wider scale. But, mileage may very, check with Montana's actually laws on the books, (post them if you can find them online, that would really cool ). Check norml.org and w-e-e-d-m-a-p-s, too. both of those sites deliver a wealth of information.

there right...make it go paper youll be doing some court hearings....Ive seen a couple privit type co ops starting but the way they work is not clear to me...if it works like a regular co-op then basicly the cost to raise the crop is divided evenly among the participants and profits are asigned a percentage to the particapants and the rest gos back to the crop....personaly if more would do this it would cut out these lame commercial growers and profit mindedness of the proprietors...lack of buisness would drive costs down for many...no way saying growing is easy or cheap...but its not as exspensive as they make it sound...even if you average say 400 bucks a pound to grow your still making money and I see ppl acerage as low as 57 bucks a pound to operate...I see lots of room for profit but since it is what it is the more patients team up to reach there common goal the better treatment they will get in the long run cause thses care givers and dispencerys dont give a turd about them...only the bottom dollar and the meds are crap....lol...everything here now is top shelf...that being the case my og kost I picked early is out of this world cause its more powerful then anything Ive gotton so far accept a mango cola 1 time.
I support co ops and the ppl that make them and I hope more will follow suit.

You need to get a business license for the city you are going to run your business in. You should retain a lawyer.

I would suggest that you use a name that lets folks know what you are doing from the get go but is not offensive. Like Medical Cannabis Co-op is honest so they can't come back later and pretend they did not know what you were planning on doing at that business. I would avoid something like Green Bud Bank or The Pot Spot that might be too much in your face in my opinion. So honest but not offensive.

    Just my 2 cents.
