Burning or eating

I have plants that are budding for the past two weeks and they are either getting burned or ate. Here are the signs, they are schrivling up and look like little dry tips. I moved the light to the top and the temp has been around 82-84 when the lights are on. If they are getting ate would it be ok to spray them with azatrol while in the bud stage. Also do i put the azatrol in the res. while treating them? any help on this matter would be appreciated since i'm in the bud phase and would hate to lose the time that I have invested. Thanks.
