    Growing with LED lamps?

I'm looking into these LED grow lamps from thelastshop.com. It says it is new technology. Has anyone used these and if so how do they compare to the usual lamps. That would be sweet if these LED ones do work because for 2 by 2 foot of coverage costs 40 bucks. Thats way better than 100-200 dollars.

    Thx all

    Growing with LED lamps?

i have looked at almost every known maker i could find and unless you spend some really big bucks you are wasting your money...most LED lights use only 1w diodes and the price will vary with the spectrums they use.

my lights are 150 watts each and $450 and the manufacturer says they can be hung as high as 13' above the plants making 100 square foot coverage but am i going to use them that high? no way so your coverage will vary on how strong you want your light to be!

there are a few LED bulbs on ebay that will work for growing and are cheap but i would not use the lite brite style of LED panel...jmo!

    Growing with LED lamps?

i tried going to the website and its under construction. have another link?
and for me i would only use LED lights for supplemental lighting. there are quite a few growers on this forum that only use LED's and there results are not bad.
if you do go led i would at least throw a few cfl's in the blue and red spectrum just to get a nicer light spectrum
i am happy with my hps but very curious about LED's as well.
plasma lighting is the new thing they are working on now. that will take a while so much $$$$$$$$ now.
    anyway have another link?

    what up stra8outtaWeed!
you are one of the growers that have a sweet LED setup, and it is true what you said. you do get what you pay for (usually) and the pricey LED's are the ones worth while.
TVWoLfMaN check out stra8outtaWeeds setup. he has a link on his signature. :smokin:

i checked those lights out. I don't think i would trust them. keep asking around. find someone that has used them before you buy them. the price is just too good. i think they would be sweet for supplemental lighting at least for the price. and small watt usage.

    Growing with LED lamps?

I am up on most of the latest LED Lighting info and am willing to help you in finding the right light for your grow, but it is way to much info to type so please feel free to send me a friend request and I will try to get you as much info as I can. Right now the basics are you want a RB (Red Blue) spectrum for both Cloropyll A & B. More R is better for flower and more B is better for veg. You want to stay in the 660nm to 630nm (nanometer) range for red and the 440nm to 460nm in the blue.

    I hope this helps.
