First a mother is not required. If you donâ??t have the space then donâ??t worry about one. If you have a place to keep a mother then by all means do so. A mother plant is one that has growing traits that you are looking for. Either, short and bushy, tight nods, spacey branching, potency, good leaf foliage, ect.

I do not keep mothers myself, I just veg my clones until they are ready to move into the flower room. One week before they move into the flower room I take clones again. So these are clones x 14 now (meaning the 14 time I have cloned this strain from a clone)

Clones are given 24/7 of light (fluorescents is best because it will not heat up the leafs and dry them out) Aeroponics cloning is the best way to clone.

The problem is having them all in the same room is hard. Each will have different light requirements. Clones need the fluorescent light about 2-4 inches away and a cycle of 24/7. They will not be the same height, as your other plants so using the same light will not work for them. Clones can grow fine in a small cabinet with doors just watch the temperature and the rest of the environment.

You donâ??t need to sex the whole plant. There are several waysâ?? to determine sex. After about 45-60 dayâ??s of vegetation most strains will show their sex. The quick way is to take a clone as soon as you can, root the clone like normal then throwing it into 12/12 will show the sex in about a week or 2 at most.

Next you can place a bag over one of the mid side branch for 12 house of darkness even if it is during the 18/6 light cycle. This will also show sex and is better then putting the whole plant back into vegetation again.
