    Dirt Farmers

    Hello All,

Been looking at youtube on the subject of soil growing
I have to ask....How do you start your babies?

Do you make your soil? Like this

Then add something like Fox Farms Grow Big and Super thrive? Like this

    What are your methods?

How much do you think you spend on nutrients per plant per grow cycle?

    What nutrients do you like?

    Where do you get them?

    Thanks for the input

You need to pick up any growing guide at Borders or Waldenbooks...You are seriously not considering a commercial grow here are you?

The only thing that you need to do to answer any of your questions is to read for about two hours.

Figure an adult plant in a 3 gallon bucket uses one gallon of nutrient solution per week. Go and price your nutrient system and do simple math.

Look at any hydro system and get the size of the tank. This will be in gallons. Look at your choices of nutrients. Do simple math.

You have many dozen video examples on you tube about how to do this shit. There are a dozen books that are at your fingertips. This site has the best info available already in Q and A form.

I dont mind sharing info with anyone. This is excessive man. Besides, you are from Arizona and could not be a patient or a prospective grower. Lets discuss things less personal than specific numbers here.

Actually yes I am still thinking about it and yes I can be a producer Bob unless you are more of an authority the NMDOH. Are you there Bob?
Yes they are aware of where I live they have been sending me documentation.

Now in your haste to sound like you know what your talking about you could be referring to a patient vs a producer then you would be correct.

I have been talking to them for about two months straight asking questions and never have they in any way said I am not eligible. Of course I can not grow in Az however I can commute and grow in NM. Is this a non-founded opinion vs FACT?

Now if talking about your nutes are too private you need to get out and live a little. I did not ask about your SS#, your medical history, nor your sexual orientation. Those are personal things.

What is personal about nutes? Are you the only person with top secret nutes? Are nutes all of a sudden illegal?

Now as far as youtube show me a more specific video than what I showed. In addition I have been to bookmans and have been reading. I have a ton of stuff of the internet as well.

However there are a lot of people with a lot of experience that have differing opinions on methods and believe it or not you are not the only one here. Are you?

My mom use to say if you can't say something nice don't say anything at all. Your not saying anything nice Bobo' so...

Attacking is merely a way to get attacked. Play well with others and mind your manners. If your a mediator and this is against the rules then boot me other wise do not try to act like your some sort of authority; you make your self look foolish.

You mention Hydro when I specifically asked about dirt. The reason I am contemplating dirt is because it is more forgiving this is what will allow me to commute. As I intend to keep my business here.

In addition I can gain experience as I expect the law to be passed here in AZ. It passed in 1996 however they wrote the law stating it is legal for doctors to prescribe when we all know it is not.

Also realize I am contemplating LEDs which there is not a lot of documentation on. So I am taking everyone's input and trying to compare. You might call it RESEARCH from a lot of different sources.

Unfortunately unlike you I do not know it all.

Feel free to drop in on my grow log. Link is in signature. I'm a dirt grower and I think I get pretty decent results. All of the information you are looking for is in there, and if it isn't I'd be fine sharing whatever.

For the record, who says you have to be "sanctioned" or "blessed" by a state to grow? I thought this site was above that. I thought all we needed here was a like mind and passion for MJ. Just my :twocents:

Just read your post, if you are looking for info on LED, drop by Str8outtaweed, he's got about the most impressive LED grow I can recall seeing. He's all about hooking up information too.

Yes he and I have been skyping and when he returns we will chat more. I will definitely follow you link. There is so much good info and knowledge here I don't think all the sites and books could cover the experience and methods.

    Personified,

You are asking a bunch of good questions. I do have a question for you...are you planning on a grow operation within New Mexico to supply patients in NM or are you planning on a growing operation to supply stuff TO NM from Arizona?

I am NO expert but you may find yourself in some trouble with LEO if you were to grow medicine in AZ and transport it to NM. Wouldn't that be a federal offense?

Have you considered using Hempy Buckets to grow? They are VERY VERY simple and easy to watch your nutrients and water. No pumps, easy watering, easy to add nutrients....etc.

    Just a thought!

    No intention of transporting.

Keep it simple.... its a weed.

start the seeds in regular MG potting soil(non moisture control), I use 4 inch pots to begin with. plant the seeds about 5/16 inch deep, and water. when they get to the 3rd node, then FIM, do the same to the branches. Normally I will keep them in veg for 2 months from the date the seeds were planted, then put them into flower. I don't worry about nutes until they go into flower. I have been getting an avarage yield of 1/2 to 3/4 pound of dried, cured bud from each plant. BTW... I use CFLs for lighting on 18/6 for veg, then when I put them in flower I also add a bunch of T12 flouros. Due to space limitations, I cannot grow more than 3 plants to maturity at a time.

    Dude,
I am not talking about you not being able to apply for a grower??s license. I am talking about your obvious lack of even the most basic skills needed to grow medical marijuana...not the law. Yes, the law will allow anyone to apply, but they are going to find out that you haven??t even bothered to figure out the basics and have no experience. Even if you bullshit your way into getting licensed you are going to be a farmer with no farming experience??? Good freaking luck! You are going to chop up some leaves and stems and pack them in a bucket and grow MEDICAL MARIJUANA??? Oh please!

And asking these constant elementary questions are just amazing. The nutrient system is no secret, but it is all a different PRICE. For instance? Advanced Nutrients are expensive and you may find that some strains at altitude demand that type of technical system...Well you are going to spend a bunch?.Maybe $100 per plant! Understand?

And if you use Miracle Grow and a bucket of sand you can do that for $5 per year. Understand? It is all a part of YOUR PLAN to grow 95 plants. What I spend growing my four plants out in my back yard each summer is irrelevant. Surely you can see that? You could not possibly design a commercial growing system nor get any kind of cost estimate information by asking specific questions about a patient??s grow operation.

So through experience on what works best, you are going to have to estimate your cost for yourself. Instead of telling you there is no way you could be a patient or a producer' I should have said "there is no way you could be a patient and no way you could be successful as a producer."

You have obviously never cultivated a single marijuana plant in your life and you are considering doing it as a business? You don??t even have the foggiest idea of what it will take to bring a crop to fruition and you are getting offended when someone that does speaks the truth to you.

Good Luck my friend. You have a long way to go. You are going to need someone who knows how to grow the plants and you need someone who can modify your chosen area to get the environmental results needed and maintain them. You need to stick to the business end?Or something. It will take someone that knows exactly what they are doing a couple of crops to get it all running right, and then it would be exceedingly hard to squeeze a living out of it given the restrictions. A complete novice with no growing experience simply cannot grow medicinal marijuana. It is something you learn and not something you ??do?
