Hello I'm new, but I have a problem with smoking at the moment.
holding your hits in any longer than 5 seconds is pointless, just remember that. in 5 seconds 98 percent of that THC will be absorbed. every second after that you are allowing nothing but toxins to be absorbed. So don't worry about holding it in, it doesn't help at all!!

So like I said, just take it easy, don't take monster rips and don't hold them in more than 5 seconds. Exercise and a good diet will certainly help with the circulation and blood pressure problem, but either way if things don't get better you gotta go see a doctor. you never know when things like this could be much more serious than they seem (i.e. if your circulation is being forcibly slowed by a swollen gland or blood clot - which I highly doubt is the case lol)
Just be careful and take good care of yourself. That's the best advice I can give.

You may also want to consider buying a vaporizer. You get more oxygen because there is no flame. Also I had the same problem and it was from my depression meds like pufferlungs referred to. I just took smaller hits and did not hold them for more then about 4 or 5 seconds and eventually my body adjusted.
Hope this helps......

Hello I'm new, but I have a problem with smoking at the moment.
Irreversible maoi's, like tranylcypromine (Parnate), haven't been widely prescribed for more than 20 years due to their many side effects and conflicts with common foods. Only moclobemide is really active in the market place from that group and it's a reversable maoi, so not dietary restrictions and no noted interaction with cannabis. The reuptake inhibitors work selectively on serotonin (hence ssri, selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor). All they do is lengthen the period of time your neural synapses are exposed to serotonin by preventing reabsorption for a while longer than usual. Cannabis has a modulating effect on neurotransmitters, so, theoretically speaking cannabis might possibly work at crossed purposes with ssri medications, but there is no current data to either support or deny the idea.

Well thank you for the advice, it sounds good. I didn't know about the 5 seconds. Nothing like I described has happened since I posted. Breathed deeper, without emphasis on holding it.

Hello I'm new, but I have a problem with smoking at the moment.
Thought I would share alittle.
Back in the old days I would take large hits off of a bong or loint with friends. I never told anyone even my best friends that when I smoke alot or held those big hits too long that everthing would white out. For about 5 to 10 seconds my vision would go white out snow storm. Then it started to happen on the job later when doing heavy construction work. Not a good place to be when this happens. Many others depended on me to keep them safe. Never told my doctor either. It developed into being able to see shadow people and dead people and death on the faces of those about to die. Everytime I saw death in someones face they were dead in 6 months. Wife was really creepped out.
Well about 8 years ago I smoked some cig's and a big fat joint got aggravated with a puter and went to the hospital having a minor heart attack if you can call a heart attack minor.
They found I had bad blockage on both sides of my chest and it was blocking blood flow to my heart and brain and making me see things others didn't.
So they put in 2 stenths and now no more white outs. No more seeing death. My mind is much clearer. The buzz is so much better. I wish my friends that died were here to smoke with me.
So the point is untill you or a doctor figures out what is going on.
You are a danger to yourself and everyone around you when this happens. I hope you don't drive.

Nah its all good now. Oxygen deprivation seemed to be exactly what my problem was. Went with the 5 second rule and now I'm standing up and ripping bongs again. Thank you.
