Is there anything I can do to test for oxidization or deterioration in soil quality like testing the run off water?
also....since u sound pretty experienced
I'm hoping to be able to harvest in the next three weeks....seems like these plants have been flowering forever (1st pistils seen on Jan 24)....but I cut a bud off maybe two weeks ago and wanted to do a test dry/cure before it got to close to harvest....Well it was a pretty small bud so it dried in like three days, and then I had it in a jar for like a week until I finally smoked it....the problem is it tasted like shiiiiit.....I'm sad because I'm worried my lack of experience in harvesting will destroy my beautiful Juicy dank ass smelling flowers :-(....any tips on better harvesting???
Sorry for the novel, and thanks again for your Knowledge friendabbazabba123 Reviewed by abbazabba123 on . Funny idea that seems to be working!! Ok guys, I've been growing some bagseed for the last few months now and have been looking for any oddball method I can find to increase the yield of my crop, and get max potency of the bud. Well after unwittingly having an idea pop into my head I tried one that seemed SOOOO simple that it might actually be legit..... Sooooo, this is where I call out for all enlightened growers and knowledgeable greenthumbs..... I tried no avail to research this on the internet but found a bunch of shit so Rating: 5

Nitric oxide and gene regulation in plants.
There seems to be alot of studies on NO and altering the levels in not only humans and mammals but plants as well. Id be very very curious on your grow and how it turns out given you keep giving it altered NO levels. Id love to see pictures.

No clue how you could test for changes due to the suppliment.
Not too sure of the room-temp interaction between oxygen and hydrogen, and by extention, the potential hydrogen. (ph) Perhaps monitoring the runoff would help, but I just don't know. Oxygen does transform other metals and chemicals though.
About the mini-bud you snatched...likely it wasn't mature enough to start pumping-out the flavinoids and trichomes, and all you were smoking was semi-cured pistils and leaf. Do you have a strong magnifying glass or one of those Radio Shack pocket microscopes? If so, use it to look closely at the trichomes. Until the trichomes are fully formed and starting to turn milky, your smoke is likely to taste like shit.
You mention an expected harvest date of three weeks. Is that from a strain guide or breeders info? If so...us home gardeners can tack an additional week or two on to the end of that estimate. Usually, the breeders use multiple 1000w HID's, use hydro, (a quicker-finishing method) they have hands-on experience with the strain and have learned how to optimize it. (and they don't usually add stuff to their plants if it's not intended for plants)
If one of 'em starts going south, you might want to think about either a serious flush, or possibly even chopping her for re-veg in clean soil. (there's a link in my signature) If you are going to continue the experiment, perhaps scale it back to the one plant.
Just payin' it forward.

From what I'm finding about N.O. on the net SpringerLink - Journal Article is that it tends to shorten inter-node spacing but tends to inhibit flowering. IMO it would be best for veg. Keeping mothers and clones short & squatty. The bud size increase that your getting might be due to growth as the plant tries to go back to veg. I think I might try it on a clone.

Well. I tried it sort of. Didn't want to kill anything nice. I had two weak looking clones. I emptied a 500mg capsule over the soil of one and watered as normal. A week later I have a dead clone and a sick one. Untreated clone may not make it either. I'll have to wait a bit to try again. Still trying to build up any army.
