deciding which light for 12 plants.

So a year ago I made the mistake of selling my 1000w hps light, now that I'm receiving my medi-card I'm gonna need a new light to grow my own. I talked to a local grow store and they have a used sunco system light that has two lights built in. a 450MH and 650hps (1000 total) Has anyone used a light like this? Could I use just the 450 for veg and use both for flowering? Also could I get 12 plants w/ this light? any input would help.

p.s. light prices have gone up DRASTICALLY since peeps can grow their own in my state, I was a fool for selling my original but I'm gonna feel 10x times better being legal now.

i have switched to LED and sold my 2-1000w that i used to grow with....save energy and never buy another bulb again!:thumbsup:

I just bought 2 600s off ebay, a little over $200 each, and ought to be much more versatile than the 1000w I'm borrowing for now, in the end I need room for 18 plants, you may want to consider 2 400s for what you want to grow.

Ok I will check ebay for sure, I'm thinking I have the room and everything except the lights currently, my thoughts are to become a caregiver, and this will allow me to grow up to twelve plants per person (five people total) Would you recommend switching to hydroponics? also would 600 w lights work for about 24 to 36 plants?

I would look for 2 600's or or 3 400's.:thumbsup: Your going legal so ordering off of ebay won't be any issues. Also be sure to check craigslist if your willing because sometimes you can find some steals, and sometimes you can get some other useful hardware as well
