Need help to decide on a vaporizer

I have not smoked for 10 years until last week I cam across a gram of Sour Diesel and an out door strain. I can toke 2-3 pipe hits and feel high but it's not a great high and since I smoke for mostly medical reasons anyhow I feel a vaporizer might be my best friend. The high I have read is cleaner and nothing like a high from a bowl. Well in essence at least. Too much of this high grade marijuana from a bowl and I just don't dig it for some reason. I have a couple mental disorders back problems insomnia, knee pain. The list goes on. And while 2 to three hits off a pipe may help some, I think there is more promise to vaping.

My question is should I invest in a vaporizer? If for some reason I don't like it I'm probably out hundreds because I don't know anyone who has a need for one. I can't really afford 500 dollars on up for a vape, My budget is really set at around 200, give or take a few dollars. I have read good and bad about DaBuddah although it is in my price range. And I suppose if I had to I could reall focus on saving up 500 for the Volcano, but that will take time living on Disability income.

    Thoughts on my dilemma?
    Much appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

Need help to decide on a vaporizer

being as you said that you take only a few hits some times, i would recommend a small handheld vape such as the purple days or myrtalzap. i own a pd and use it daily and love how small and efficient it is. also if left plugged in, it will always be hot and ready, no temp adjust to screw with, just drop in a tube and start sucking.

as i have the ssv, i havent hit a budda, but i feel they would be pretty close (with the gg on the ssv). this type of vape is great for those big milky hits. i use substantially more weed with the ssv then i do with the pd, but thats only natural to assume. but those bit hits are oh so worth it! with a budda, or any higher end whip vape, you will have the ability to adjust the temp.

if you just want to dip your feet into the vapor world and test it out on a budget, i would look into the vaporgenie. while not the most elegant looking, for around 55 dollars, its a decent vape and is portable (providing you can get out of the wind). i was supprised on the size of the hits i was getting with mine after having it sit in the closet for a while. bit more of a technique to get the flame and draw right, but still an easy learning curve.

these are just a few options, based on what i could pick from what you already wrote, if you could tell us your usage patterns a little more, if your a bong smoker or what, that could help us. but ultimately it will be down to you to research, and decside which vape wil fit your needs the best. fuckcombustion.com has alot of great reviews and is a great place to learn about all the different vapes.

Great man I really appreciate your help. I have not smoked a bong for many years, but used to smoke load after load with no problems. Though now with the higher grade strains that I haven't tried in the past it seems that a couple hits off of a pipe gets me to where I need to be, but not for long. A bong is an option of course 1 bong hit would probably do the job for me now, but all of this talk about vapes and how great they are got me thinking I should at least try one. It is healthier in the long run. Basically I don't know where to get and marijuana at the time and I am not yet a legal medical user. I do know of one guy who said he would help me get meds until I got a card but they cost money and I don't have it right now. Anyhow my smoking habit is light. When I had the gram of weed I had I would smoke one small piece of nug at night(I live with my parents and apparently they don't approve)2-3 hits would be good, but much more than that and sometimes I would feel really I can't describe it. Just not as good of a feeling as only sticking with 2-3 hits.

I don't know how my routines may change in the future when I really get to sit down and sample some different kinds of weed and how they help me in different ways. I do know that 2 hits off of a joint and two bubbler hits of Bubbba Kush and Pineapple express got me higher than I have ever been.

But I can see myself smoking a small amount from a vaporizer and being medicated and fine. And being able to do it in my room where no one will find the smell associated with marijuana, which could land me in a hospital or something due to my diagnosis.

Do you think I should even consider a used vaporizer on ebay? It is a silver surfer and has only been used 10 times according to the seller. If it stays at around 100 I may consider bidding on it.

thanks lwien, good to see a familiar face in these parts of the internet.

the ssv is a great vape. i guess i have no problem buying used, but thats just me. it will be hard to tell how many times it has been used, but there isnt much to go wrong with the unit. the heaters are designed to last many years of daily use. and all the glass is replacable. if you can pick it up for 100 go for it. email the seller dirrectly ask what he would let it go for today for. some sellers will be more then glad to give you a price.

It's a toss up between that SSV on ebay or a vaporgenie. Do any headshops sell them locally? I live in the Beaverton, OR area.

Toss up? That's like saying, "I'm going to get a car. It's a toss up between BMW M5 or a Chevy Malibu." Both good cars, but...........

The SSV costs six times as much. The SSV is a home unit and the VG is a portable. The SSV is a whip based vape, and the VG is a pipe. Night and day between these two vapes.

I am just looking at as a toss up because I may be able to get the silver surfer as a good deal, but the vaporgenie is cheaper. I think it could go either way.

But now that I have seen the purple days vape I think I want it. Only if I could somehow get it used which is probably impossible. It's a 14+week waitfor them new.

A Silver Surfer will give you super thick, rich bong like rips but a the sake of efficiency. A Purple Days is super efficient, but at the sake of super thick bong like rips. Again, night and day.

You really need to decide which is more important to you. Thick vapor clouds, efficiency, or portability. Based on your answer to that will dictate which vape you should get.
