Border patrol checkpoints
Been combing forums for a while but recent news articles have me worried.. stories about border patrol checkpoints (with dogs) on I-10 and I-8 (southern AZ) busting casual users with felonies. Anyone been through the area in recent years?
The reason I'm asking is that my family is moving from the east coast to southern Arizona. I'll be going separately to drive the car there and I'd like to bring a zip or two. It will be vacuum sealed as well as possible and I'm not using any on the road trip. I wonder, would it be safer in the car or in a moving truck amongst several dozen cardboard boxes? Perhaps either way the vehicle is gonna get sniffed?Wildwood Reviewed by Wildwood on . Border patrol checkpoints
Be careful down there...the sheriff does not mess around and I'm sure you don't want to end up in tent city wearing only pink over a couple of zips
Arizona doesn't seem to be as MJ friendly as it's neighbors. probably best in the moving truck if your worried

Dont sweat it......put it in yoursuitcase and dont speed. You are not gonna be searched unless you smell or are driving like a moron in which case ya got what ya had coming. Looking respectable is also a plus. Look like trouble and you willprolly be treated like trouble.

Border patrol checkpoints
Well my older brother went through arizona with a moving van and the thing was packed completly. They stopped him at the checkpoint and searched his vehicle, He is a normal lookin 30 yr old white guy that never smokes, He used to supply to me since he had the money and he used a leather briefcase to do all his business in. There was no weed in the briefcase for a good 2 months and the dogs were able to smell the briefcase made him empty out his whole truck. though he didnt have anything. But watch out if your in a moving van, they are always suspicious. You should be good if u just pack it deep and make sure its air tight and no smell. You should get one of those smelly proof bags. Get em at a smoke shop

I've got no qualms about officers but can well packed vacuum-sealed containers really cover my ass from dogs?

Im a trucker and used to run I-8 every week along the border and I can tell
you that those dogs are extremely well trained and worked. If you hapen to
have something on you they WILL find it. Guaranteed. Is it really worth two
zips? All I can say is THINK, THINk, THINk,.

One other thing I had forgot mention is. Why in the world would you want to
put the people driving the moving truck at risk? Assuming its your family driving
the moving truck do you really want to put them at that much risk?

checkpoints aren't too bad on the 10. if you're coming from the east you may see one an hour or two before el paso and one after el paso, about 20-30 miles deep into new mexico. there is no checkpoint for the nm/az state line unless they're trying to get tricky that day. tombstone likes to put up random checkpoints every so often, but thats not on the interstate and mainly around holidays looking for illegals traveling to see their families and what not.
chances are they'll just look at you and ask you if you're an american citizen when you go through one.
safe travels.
