    Those little pre-flower calyx actually will produce seeds.
    But, if unfertilzed, they will swell to seed size when she reaches maturity.
    It's a handy indicator for judging harvest time.
    The majority of seeds are produced by the buds
    Each Pistil will become a seed.

    If you're not careful, that is.
