THC is stored in the fat cells (in which all humans have) and are released back into the bloodstream as THCA when fat cells are burned for energy. The kidneys filter the THCA from the bloodstream and deposits them into the bladder. Drinking a bunch of water may cause frequent urination, but it has no effect on the rate in which THCA is filtered from the bloodstream by the kidneys.
Therefore, drinking fluids is only valid for the day of the U/A. Thats because youre diluting the concentration of THCA thats present in the bladder, in an effort to cause the sample to register below the cutoff thresholds of the drug screen. This action is only temporary. Once all of the fluids taken in had been all urinated out, the "dirty" donor will resume testing positive for THC.
