I've done it the other way round and the way you talk of, plants adapt if their strong enough!

So, I have a few nice plants in 5 gallon buckets / netpots but I don't want to flower them and be stuck in hydro for another 75 days. Has anyone ever put a plant that vegged in hydro, into soil?
