Flushing is mainly to remove salt buildup from the nutes that are left behind.
Also ppl flush once a month although I've heard as much as once a week.

When you do flush let the soil dry out before you water again (stick your finger in the dirt to make sure it's dry knuckle deep), and make sure to check the p
PH of the runoff water when you flush, hope you have alot or big drainage holes in those pots will help you out alot.
Overwatering is caused by frequently watering a plant not from giving it a large amount and letting it dry up on it's own.

If you have 3 gal pots, flush with 9 gallons of water (not 3x the regular amount of water). If you have 1 gal pots, flush with 3 gallons of water, etc. And use properly ph'd water, and check the run-off.

You only need to flush once usually, don't do it everyday. Flushing or even watering everyday will definitely drown the plant. Let the soil properly dry out. Check with your finger or by lifting the pots and checking the weight.

Even though you might be overwatering, I'd say that at this point, it would be more detrimental to let all those nutrients sit in the soil and burn up your plants more. I don't think the overwatering will kill them as fast as all those nutes. Kind of the lesser of two evils here... but something needs to be done. :twocents:

Hey guys, just thought I'd keep you updated. I've uploaded pictures of the plants now and they're looking A LOT better!

There are two things that I'm a bit concerned about though.

Some of the leaves have slightly curved blades. Is this due to heat stress?
The thermometer is currently placed under the lamp at the same level as the leaves and it reads 95 F.
I have raised the lamp a bit just to be safe.

Also, I think I may need to clip some of the leaves. As you may notice, the size of the leaves in proportion to the stem and shoot system is huge!

Will this have a negative impact on the plants growth?

    Thanks again for the help!!!

    Max

Try getting a temp reading so that the thermometer isn't directly under the light. Put some little piece of cardboard or something to shade it. Still, I think it will be over 85F, and most likely the cause of the leaf curl. Try raising the lights a tad until temps are good, and then figure out a way to keep the room cooler. A cooltube can make a huge difference (google: DIY cooltube, you can make it for about half the price)

As for the leaves, leave them be for now. If they are later blocking light from getting to bud sites, you can tie them back or to the side. It's rarely recommended to cut leaves (certain strains are very leafy and may sometimes benefit from this, but it takes some testing and years of growing to find the best method). So, just leave them be

Ok cool! I think I may position the fan in a more efficient spot as well....

Also, the room in which I'm growing is only about 5 and a half feet high so I need to be able to predict how much the plant will shoot up when I flower it. I've heard from a few people that the plant may triple in height throughout the flowering stage.

I'm contemplating flowering it now so the plant will be roughly 4 feet tall when I harvest.

    Any advice on this man?

LST, topping, fiming, scrog... all work well to make the most out of a low space.

Personally I don't like the idea of growing a plant with a single cola unless you have strong lights (1000w's). Tying down and promoting more shoots to grow into an even canopy is much more efficient IMO.

I think if you flip now, you will lose a lot of yield. I'd veg for another month (give or take) and start training them little by little. Then you can maximize your space in terms of length and width while keeping everything relatively low.

The links in my sig all have examples of LST, the last two with LST and Scrog. If you have any questions about the methods feel free to ask in there or here

your bud production willl be a direct relationship to how healthy the plant is below the soil...and the more root mass(size of pot) the more bud you wil get! then follow all the good advice from above keeping your room a little cooler....78 - 80 ambient is good with air circulating because it is always hotter under your lamps! :smokin:

Yet again I've encountered a problem. Things were going extremely well for the last few weeks, but than in the last two days things have gone downhill. Basically the two plants were very healthy, one was tall and strong and the other was slightly shorter and a lot bushier. Than the bushier one flopped down on all the stems while the taller plant stayed strong.
The weird thing is the stems of the collapsed plant are very rigid and strong but just not vertical.
Please help, any advice would be mucho appreciated.
(As you can see from the photos the plants are into the 2nd/3rd week of flowering)

Ps I know i could use bamboo and prop them up, but I'm more curious as to why they've fallen.
