Since the early 80s when the Feds pretty said to the states, "you are on your own" as far as funding goes. With the economic downturn the states are in a tougher spot than ever before, especially CA. This is how the first prohibition ended. With the states and the Feds desperate for revenues alcohol was an easy fix and raised a shit load of money. We are in the same situation now as then. I would expect that CA will legalize weed any time now and once that happens the rest of the country will fall into line like dominos. Its an easy way to raise cash. The big hang up now is big Pharma,Monsanto, and others have been maneuvering for years to figure out how to corner and control this market. Its one of the big reasons we havent seen a great deal of movement on this issue. That is all it boils down to right now is how to best control and corner the market.I saw that the AMA in WI came out against medical weed as there are other treatments, blah blah...and we all know that big pharma owns the AMA.It will happen soon, certainly within the next ten years simply because the govt.and corporations, and banks have squeezed every last penny out of the the working class in this country and are running out of new sources to squeeze.

Just my thoughts on where we are on this issue.Great post and thanks for starting this conversation.Take care and be well my friends, and most of all be safe, Charles.
That is always what it boils down to. Money & Control! That is what it will always be about too. That is as long as we have people in office, who are little more than puppets for giant corporations.

Geepers! All of it is a huge bummer. I better take another toke. :hippy:
pepurr Reviewed by pepurr on . The legalization of marijuana is only the tip of the iceberg. Now days, at long last, the tide seems to be turning. People are starting to give serious consideration to the legalization of marijuana. A lot of reasons are put forth in favor of, and against this. You hear arguments that it is safer than alcohol. That it was made illegal because of prejustice. Arguments are made that it is a gateway drug. You hear and read time and again arguments for and against. I think it goes much deeper than all that. I believe it is a matter of what we want Rating: 5
