you can smoke males... you can smoke your socks too..... ahhahah.. but smoking females is the way to go... sorry I couldn't resist the smart ass comment...

your plants look healthy... congrats.... be patient...you will know a male.... the "balls" that smokey is refering to will look like little rose buds... those are very bad.. they have pollen inside them... if that pollen gets out it will fertilize your female plants causing them to produce seeds... yuck

your female plants will have white hairs in pairs of two.... keep looking at the nodes.. they will come!!! you should see them very soon.... 1 day to 2 weeks...

but you will be able to tell..... and make sure you get rid of the males and don't disturb the "balls" you don't want that pollen getting into the air...

Does this look like a male its about 4 1/2 weeks old? It has these little things on the top where the leaves grow out that look like pistols. how long does it that for the hair to form?
