using QF at Quest worried about Temp

I took a bottle of similar size and consistency to the QF bottle and nuked it for 10 seconds, then put it in my taint and took it's temp every 5 minutes..

    Initial 107.8
    101.3
    99.4
    97.7
    96.7
    95.7

I then was able to, under perfect circumstances of sitting (and my taint hurts now), get the temp back up to 96.4, that is absolutely as high as I can get it

This has me nervous, expecially after seeing this post: http://boards.cannabis.com/drug-test...out-range.html

In the extremely helpful sticked post about substitutes it says you can keep the temp to 98 for awhile, but I simply don't think that's true, at least not with my body proportions (I'm quite lean and don't have any place where it's completely surrounded by body

I'm also worried about using the heating pad because it adds another variable that I can't plan for (I only have one)

    Advice?

Exactly what is it that worries you about using the heat pad?

You can also purchase heat pads (sold as "handwarmers") at any sports/camping store, and theyre cheaper than dirt.
Check Walmart as well, while we're still into the winter season.

I actually did that, so I could practice with the heat pad, that brings my steady temperature up to about 99.7 degrees, which is a little high, but it's better than being low.

I guess my concern is that I will have pee that is 96 degrees, and then it drops another degree before they take it and then it's around 94 or 95 and they mark a red flag and I have to retest on the spot (which would result in failure)

Under DHHS regulations, the acceptable temperature range is 90-100 F. A sample of 94-95 F is fine, therefore the tech has no grounds to reject it.

A temperature drop is expected when a liquid is transferred (or urinated) into a container of cooler temp (in this case, the empty sample cup). Thats why a temperature range was established.

Make sure though, that the empty sample cup doesnt feel too cool to the touch when the tech hands it to you. The last thing you want is the temperature to drop so much it falls out of the 90-100 F range.
In an effort to minimize the temp drop occurring during transfer, I often "prewarm" the empty sample cup by tucking it in my armpit while I close the bathroom door, unzipping, etc.

That's a good idea there, thanks!

So I should be confident if the temp is 96+ when I finish?

ugh... i wish that this stuff wasn't so stressful, all I do is enjoy my evenings and video games

Yep. Just be sure not to set the filled sample cup directly on any cold surface that can cause the temp to drop out of range when you zip yourself back up. To overcome this condition, I always grab some toilet paper, and concoct a makeshift "coaster" to set the sample cup on while I zip up.

Hey, just wanted to pass on my experience, as the posts here really helped me.

Yesterday I took a urine test at Quest Diagnostics in Santa Monica. For well over a decade I've been employed as an engineer. Suddenly my group was outsourced to another company, and we were given a very short time to take a urine test before our official start date. Naturally I freaked. I'm not exactly a heavy toker, but I had just smoked plenty the week before. My stress level was through the roof.

I talked to a friend who suggested I go to a local head shop and pick up some synthetic urine. All they had was Quick Fix (QF 5.7), so I got that. My friend said, "don't worry man, I've gone to drug screenings high". Well I definitely wasn't going to push it.

About an hour before the test I heated the bottle in a pan of hot water to get it nice and warm, and then attached the heater pad with rubber bands to keep it warm for the next half hour. The instructions said look for the green dot to guage the temperature. I saw a bunch of colors on the temperature strip, but dammit I'm red-green color-blind! So I got a digital thermometer from the medicine cabinet and stuck it in there. It was 98.1F. OK, I was ready. I stuffed the little bottle in my shorts, and trucked down to the clinic.

At Quest things went pretty smoothly. I was the only customer. In the bathroom the lady asked me to empty my pockets and she locked my stuff in a box. She asked me to wash my hands and then gave me the cup. By this time the little bottle was close to falling out of my shorts, so I was glad when I could finally shut and lock the door. I could hear the ladies yapping outside, and all seemed cool. Still paranoid, I looked around for hidden cameras, but figured I better hurry up. I got the bottle out and squirted the stuff in there, somewhat stupidly, as it made a bubbly suction noise loud enough for them to hear outside. I poured the rest in slowly.

Afterwards the lady took the cup and immediately checked off the "Yes" box on "Is the temperature between 90 and 100 degrees F?" All my paranoia about the temperature was for nothing! She didn't even test the temp.

So that's it. Now I'm waiting. Man I hope things work out...

I took my test at Labcorp, not quest... but I literally took my test last week and found out i passed yesterday. it is inevitable that you are going to be nervous until you find out the results. I hope to calm your nerves a little, but truthfully you will not be totally calm until you hear your yes... but I am telling you that you will be fine. if you got past the temperature part... YOU WILL PASS! Let us know your results, or if your company is like mine no news is good news. Either way, even though I know you will be fine... i will have my fingers crossed for you! Please add your post if it is a positive one... as someone who did extensive research on QF 5.7 I think the more positive stories that can be shared the better. Mine was certainly a positive one! THANK YOU QUICK FIX!

I'm going in to talk to HR today, they will give me some drug-test form, then I will schedule an appointment for Quest (hopefully today), and do my thing. I doubt I'll hear anything from them unless I fail, they most likely assume I'll pass.

I'll let you guys know how it goes

for the hour or so before I left (nervously walking around the house) I kept the hand-warmer banded and the bottle stashed like I would for the test, it was staying pretty consistently around 98, so I decided I would just go like that.

I drove to the place and did the paper work, I actually didn't check the temperature when I got there because it was like a 5 minute drive, and I'd kept the temp steady for over an hour. The girl working there called me right up, I had to sit in a little office with her while she filled out some paper work. Then she had me pick out a container, open it, empty the contents and then take it into the bathroom where the water was deep blue and I wasn't allowed to touch anything really.

Went into the bathroom, I didn't lock it btw, I actually pee'd then transfered the whole contents-I was actually pretty nervous at this point and made a small error, I didn't carefully check the temperature on the bottle, I felt confident that it was around 98 and I would easily make the 90-100. I also attempted to get some bubbles, so I swished it with my finger, which was pretty dumb looking back on it, I was draining temperature in order to get an effect that nobody has really said is important. It was just nerves.

Either way, it looked like it temped around 95 in the room after I gave it to the chick, so that was good. She said they do things electronically now, so I just got a receipt, no form, but I think that she checked 90-100... if she didn't she'd be lying.

Now it's up to Quick Fix, from reading this forum I'm actually really confident it will work

I'll post the results when I get them
