First time subbing, few questions.
Going into to LabCorp later this week. Stopped smoking Friday. I planned on subbing all along so I am going to follow the Dilution Sticky as a backup but I had a few questions about subbing.
1) Volume: I have been told and read that 2 mls is the minimum. Now Spectrum sells a 2oz (50 mls) and a 3 oz. Which one should I get and why?
2) Temp: I have practiced several times with water with almost no troubles. I usually microwave the 2 oz bottle for about 8 seconds place it in my crack and it seems to me that it will stay at about 96.8 to 97.1 for several hours. Why the heat pack? Is that just in case it's a random and you are looking to get a sudden heat jolt applied to the sample? Because I don't think it's needed if you are jocking it in your crack. The pack to me leads to a variable as far as temp is concerned. The crack method seems to be fine as is if you are planning on going as opposed to being called on the spot to piss..
3) Shaking: Is it wise to give the sample a quick shake or two before putting it into the test cup? I don't think it matters with the Quickfix but this is more for using another person's urine. I don't think that bubbles are at all a necessary checklist item for the tech but I have heard a few people say that they were asked to resubmit due to lack of bubbles. I don't think that this is a legal parameter that a sample can be rejected. I don't think the Quickfix will bubble when shaken, am I correct.
4) Nerves: Other than the temp factor what should I be weary of? For some reason this seems so simple. Go into a room pour one bottle of fluid into another container and hand it to someone. Sounds easy as hell but I'm still nervous regardless.

3:With QF you won't have to shake because there is no sediment in it. Sometimes these labs violate protocol and there's not much you can do about it. If its a DOT test you can file a complaint that they violated the protocol.
4:Nromal for the 1st time. I was nervous too. If the temp happens to get a little low, rub your thumb against your pants and then hold it against the temp strip on the collection cup for a couple seconds. When it says 98 walk out of the room.

Dont worry be happy.......get the temp up to 98...
I did it today at lab corp.....they do not watch you and you can lock the door..no waist band check or anything ..they make you wash your hands before and after.....if you have 2 hours then I would use hand warmers ..it worked perfect for me.....as long as the synthetic works ..and I asume it is like 100% from what they say here.....you will have no problem....just check temp before you go in.....it is 90-100 you pass !!!! good luck.. and we will welcome you to the sub club .....I even smoked one one the way down there....I wore nice clothes that heps take the suspicion off..be freindly...but not too much....it took 2 hours to reach 98 though.
