I read your link and think I know your answer.....Not anytime soon.. If you read your link you would realize that lawyers in his dept advocted from both for and against terrorist detainees. Thats there job. They are lawyers. Thats what they do.

Yep. I would think that might make them better lawyers. It takes some serious balls to represent a "terrorist". I bet its one hell of a learning experience, too. No bus.

The government does not hire attorneys to represent terrorists. Government lawyers are there for only one reason. To represent the government.
The DOJ can hire whoever they want as attorneys. There's always a conflict of interest with government attorneys. You pledge to uphold the constitution but rarely is that what they're actually doing.

You should have said the DOJ does not hire attorneys to represent terrorists. Many terrorists were represented by Navy JAG officers and they are indeed paid for by the govt. In fact if you were to change government to Dept Of Justice I think your entire statement is dead on.

From the first line in the article:

"Attorney General Eric Holder says nine Obama appointees in the Justice Department have represented or advocated for terrorist detainees before joining the Justice Department."
    -and-
"during their employment prior to joining the government, only five of the lawyers who serve as political appointees in those components represented detainees, and four others either contributed to amicus briefs in detainee-related cases or were otherwise involved in advocacy on behalf of detainees.

Amicus Brief: translated as "friend of the court", that refers to someone, not a party to a case, who volunteers to offer information on a point of law or some other aspect of the case to assist the court in deciding a matter before it.
In other words...Someone that files bogus human rights violations on behalf of Gitmo detainees. (frivolous lawsuits)

So the lawyers were supporting/representing/advocating for the terrorists prior to being employed by the Justice Dept. Representing both sides of the argument in an ongoing case is a conflict of interest. Period. Unless of course, the socialist DOJ lawyers are gunning for an aquittal, in which case the 4 political appointees will hammer-away at our constitution as...get this...unconstitutional for those poor, misguided freedom-fighters wanting to kill us infidels.

I am really looking forward to the next election cycle. Watching the Marxists squirm and scramble is a growing sport I plan on supporting to the very end.
