I'm right there with ya IslandBorn, people that think that we, humans, had anything more than a slight impact on what is happening are retarded. I too have a buddy who is into this shit, and all I want to do is shut him up everytime he talks. But he's a GoreBot(he won't admit it but he is) and no matter what I tell him, show him, talk to him about, he still thinks we can stop this global warming. Yes, there has been a significant rise in temperature throughout the past couple decades. So what, its slow its not like shit isn't having time to acclimate or what-have-you to the new surroundings, it's not like next year it's going to be 2 degrees warmer in North Carolina and all the gators are going to die. Shits happening slow, the Earth knows what it is doing, it's just trying to get rid of us so it can have some damn piece and quiet.

That couldnt be because the factual information doesn't match their bogus numbers and fraudalent claims could it? This is an actual conspiracy unlike the Birthers or truther crack pots.

Other scientists meanwhile claimed the 1m figure was way too conservative anyway. They predict anything up to 2m sea level rises over the next century. But I guess you just don't understand that the more water that is introduced, or melt water is introduced into our closed system, the more precipitation we will have. Meaning more rain and snow fall. Doesn't mean its getting colder, its getting warmer. Just as a species of bird changed colors in the UK because of all the coal being burned during the industrial revolution. And that change was fairly quick under evolutionary adaptation. But you won't believe that either.

But that still doesn't mean there's anything we can do about it, if true. ANything we do would just be a knee jerk reaction because the science can't say whether its natural or human caused. Maybe in another century we'll have enough data collected to come to some sort of an educated decision.
But as always pay close attention to who is collecting the data and who is paying for it.
