I'm no lawyer, but can the authorities prove you don't rent the space from the neighbor? Perhaps asking those that issued the MMJ card could better answer the question, though.

You could have a rent (not good) or a lease (better) to the exact area you will be growing on. Use a boilerplait form and spell out exactly where your property line is. Mark your boundaries (preferably a fence). There must also be included an enterace way to the nearest right of way in that lease. A dedicateed axcess to your land is a must. Courts frown on leased land with no right of way to it.
And if the shit hits the fan your friend get hit. He must be able to prove that patch is not his. And on your card the location of your patch must accurate (ie left lower corner of TMK - - --)
I base my answers on civil law. I would think twice before doing this. And I would also go talk to a lawer for your exact state rules.Wonderful Things Happen When You Plant The Seeds Of Distrust In A Garden Of Assholes

hmmm....i would look into this a bit more before putting any plants in the ground. The laws in california are very loosely translated. I suggest finding out what your county laws are and definitely talk to an attorney. If it's your buddy's land, I suggest getting some sort of a lease agreement on the land to help make it seem as if he has no knowledge of this and you are trying to take the right steps in having this outdoor grow. Just my 2cents....
