first post first home set up help please

hi guys iv just had my friend set me up a tent in the loft with a 600w light carbon filter with a extractor fan on the end of it - iv got 2 plants in it on flour at the moment but im concerned about if im going to get smell in the house and outside. at the moment the ducting on the extractor fan is just going up towards the ceiling in my loft but we've got a exractor fan for the toilet with ducting leading outside the house on the roof, my friend has told me connect the ducting from the c filter extractor fan to the ducting leading outside but as i said i dont want the neighbours smelling anything and i dont want my old dragon of a mother in law smelling anything when she visits wich is about 2 times a week. is ther any advice you fellas could give me because im quite nervous about the situation.thanks

look into an ozonator....no filter to change just plug in the wall and it will kill any odors....i do all my manicurng in my house at the kitchen table and within a few hours of finishing it will remove all odors.....sometimes i don't run it so i can enjoy the smell!

    welcome aboard!

Sounds like you have the right idea - do you have the c filter inside the tent, and then the fan blowing out through the ducting? That way the smell never makes it outside the tent - I recently installed one and it really worked - no smell outside the tent at all. Do a test - turn it on, go outside by the vent and take a big whiff - anything?

good luck - just did my first harvest yesterday with your same basic setup (600w hps) and very happy with it!

the carbon filter if its store bought should cover the smell of the plants in the tent for sure as long as you purchased the right size and the tent is otherwised sealed.

Shouldnt be a problem for you mate

hi fowl3r,if its in your loft, using a carbon filter and venting it outside,no-one will smell it inside, and outside the wind will blow it around,if someone does smell it,they wont have a clue where its coming from!relax.
