I Have No Idea What This Problem Is!!! Anyone seen anything like this before???

I sprouted this from a purps seed that i aquired online. Everything went smoothly at first. I used the paper towel method for germination, and planted the seed in a peat moss pellet that swells when you get it wet. It sprouted beautifully, but when the first set of 2 leaves came out, the centers of the leaves discolored and twisted. This problem appears to be affecting the older foliage. the newer growth in the midlle looks great. As far as conditions go, i recently changed the soil to fox farms, and i am using a 23 watt/1600 lumen cfl to light the small gal. I am using this as a trial run, as i have a pack of DA PURPS to grow. Any Ideas why this could have happened, and or if i should do anything about it. Brown and yellowing of the middles of the leaves, not the outer edges??? Strange! Here are some picks.

Yep, happens to me too, don't know why. Plants seem to do fine as they get older, but sure seemed scarey at the time....only happens to me with seeds, clones don't seem to do it. Though yours seem quite a bit worse, I usually get 3-4 sun leaves before I see lower leaves with this.

Same here, the four bottom-most leaves usually die on me like clockwork. Never really thought anything of it, I figured it had something to do with the plant switching its nutrients from the cotyledon to the nutes in the soil.

If it keeps spreading, check out your PH. That would be my best guess.

hmmmm.....have you used any nutes on them? They are really young so I would avoid nutes for the for at least another week. I've definately had some leaves look bad when the plant is first getting situated. But if new growth is coming in and looks green and healthy I wouldn't worry too much about it. Make sure you water and spray them to keep them nice and moist.

If you are still having this issue in another week....it may be your ph. good luck man!

Thanks for your input everyone. My ph level was high apparently. I brought the watering solutions ph way down so i think that should help. Its about 79 degree below the light, but the soil seems a little cold. Im not too sure what the proper soil temp is, but i would imagine relatively warm. I will post as soon as i get some more results.

Not always, check out the plant on the right in first pic, left in second: it should look like the other, but see the dramatic change from improper pH. It was from using an old soil who's pH buffer had ran out apparently.
