Anybody into classical?
I was wondering if I'm the only one here who enjoys a concerto or symphony baked. If sceptical, I suggest you try it--you'd be amazed how beautiful and intense it is. I was struck with the mighty feeling the other day of "wow, I'm in the presence of something transcendental."
Some favourites:
"Una furtiva lagrima" from L'elisir d'amore (Donizetti)
"Che gelida manina" from La Boheme (Puccini)
Mozart's 'Eine kleine Nachtmusik', serenade no. 13 in G. major
Menuet (Boccherini)
Vivaldi's 'Four Seasons'
Beethoven's 5th symphony, 1st movement
An der schonen blauen Donau--waltz op. 314 (Strauss)cannabis=freedom Reviewed by cannabis=freedom on . Anybody into classical? I tried listening to it back in the early 90's to get away from all the commercialization that FM radio had become. But one day I happened upon "Echoe's" and later "Hearts of Space" on PBR stations and found this incredible music to get high to. Soundscapes if you will.
Nowadays tho I am constantly tuned into SomaFM out of SanFransico. SomaFM: Listener Supported, Commercial Free Internet Radio
Theres like 18 different genres/channels to listen to. I like Groove Salad pretty good, but when I toke up I listen to Spacestation Soma.

yeah, I got into it in college, especially Mozart's 40th and 41st. I listen to classical radio when I'm working or a nice groovy trip hop, I like Chill New York on live365 but now I've gotta check out this SOMA FM, sounds pretty cool. :rasta:

Classical music is very cool.
My folks had an extensive classical music library on . . . 78 rpm records. Those things were thick enough to use as weapons.
I heard much classical music growing up. Loved it then and still do now when I'm in the right mood.

Good to hear...a guy I know actually laughed at me for listening to it. He mainly listens to the kind of techno that sounds as though there's a scratch on the CD. It's really sad how little some people appreciate beauty.

Back in their day, classical musicians were treated just like rock stars.
