CROSSING EASY RYDER W/ DIESEL RYDER....PLZ HELP

Hello everyone. I am kinda confused and can use some input. I've already tried searching and found very little on this subject. Well anyways, I am very interested in easy ryders as my grow space is small and this strain seems perfect for my needs. I decided that I don't want to keep having to buy female easy ryder seeds so I came up with my decision to wanna cross it with diesel ryder. I know that crossing 2 easy ryders will create an F2 plant which won't be as good as a F1 so I want to cross easy ryder with diesel ryder. Do you guys recommend that I cross a full male diesel ryder with a feminized easy ryder which will yield me both male and female seeds or is it fairly easy to stess a female diesel ryder so that is hermiates and use the hermaphrodite pollen to fertilize my easy ryders. I know that this will create feminized seeds which is a good thing but I don't want to end up with unstable seeds that will come out to be hermaphrodites by nature. I would prefer to have a feminized cross of easy ryder x diesel ryder but if theres going to be a high chance of retarded seeds then I'd rather just cross a full male diesel with an easy ryder.

What do you guys think? is this something easily done and pretty straight forward or what. I've never dealt with breeding and so I'm new to this whole thing. I just dont wanna have to constantly buy fem seeds. I'd rather just make my own. Plus I don't have a great deal of space so I'd rather not waist any growing male plants just to end up chopping them.

I dont know if I confused anyone but in simple terms. should I use a male diesel ryder to pollinate my fem easy ryder or use a hermie diesel ryder to do so. what are the negative and positive outcomes of both, if any?

    thanks everyone

CROSSING EASY RYDER W/ DIESEL RYDER....PLZ HELP

    Also, one other question,

I wanna grow a very good high yielding auto flowering lowryder strain. Do you guys think that crossing easy ryder with diesel ryder will create a well balanced potent strain carrying the auto lowryder aspect of the plant or do you think that crossing easy ryder with the lowlife auto hindu kush would create a better cross? I basically want a well balanced potent strain which will stay small and be able to grow within 8-9 weeks in my 35 inch tall grow box using 268 watts of cfl's.

I just want some input before I obtain these seeds. I know they already make a hindu kush/ ak47 strain but the point is to make my own seeds so I wont have to ever buy seeds again. I'm fine with growing these strains for a long time and don't feel the need to grow any other strains.

You need to do some research and reading. I see you have done some. If you had done enough, you would know that you need more room to cross several to get just one phenotype you want from the F1 line.m I would try to use real males for this, not stressed females

    Why not clone?

cant clone auto flowers. seeds take way to long. i would use a diffrent strain so you could clone. keep a mother and cut clones as you need them.

Yes you can clone autoflowers, I just did an experiment with it here:

    http://boards.cannabis.com/advanced-...one-autos.html

You can't clone them perpetually though, as you are still limited by the auto genes as to when they start to flower, the clones flower after the same total veg time from seed as the parent. That would leave you with up to 6 or so clones from each plant since they flower so quickly and the yield would be maybe increased to 150% with an added week or two to the grow time of all but the original: due to the clones needing that time to grow roots.

That being said, yes a SOG would be much easier and quicker to get to your goals, smallgrow1, than running autoflowers from seed but you would need a second box for the mother and clones. I saw a great thread on ICmag called DrBud Takes CFL SOG to the Next Level where he basically sets up to get 1.5-2oz a week with the same amount of lights as you. All he has to do is root some clones in a DIY organic mix he came up with in soda bottles and move them through the flowering box, only using water since the right nutrients are in the soil.

Sorry, don't know much about crossing for desired traits yet, but like Washougal said: you want to grow out a bunch of males and females to get the parent phenotypes that show the best of the traits you want to keep. I suggest growing for the male first and collect the pollen, then after you cut him and clean the area you can go for the mother and have a larger window to pollinate for seeds on your desired plant.

I don't think F2's should be all that unstable, afterall that is part of how you stabilize the strain right? I'd have to look up how to make an IBL, but that might be one of the steps along with backcrossing with the original parents...

Hope this helps a bit :rastasmoke:
