Raiz' First Grow Log - 3 White Widow Seeds from Nirvana

I'm new to this forum and this is one of the best threads I've came upon so far...

This thread has been a great read! Congrats on your ladies so far and im hoping for a big harvest! The detail of your procedures has made this thread a great one to follow! Just a couple things to think about...

What are your plans for post-harvest? Are you going to try and start a perpetual harvest? I noticed the dome you out the clones under has a bit of room especially if you transferred clones directly into trays. Cloning is an extremely effective and fast way to multiply your yield... just takes some advanced planning to veg and clone and flower at the same time. Don't mean to be preachy but dont wanna see your harvest fall victim of not planning before planting.

Other than that keep up the good work. Im anxious to see the yield you get from the f5s.

    Be Easy

They're going to stay at 24/0 as long as I have room for them, which won't be much longer. Then, once they have good roots, I'll switch them over to whatever new vegging space I come up with and keep vegging till the current harvest is done.

Post harvest I plan to smoke the bud! I hope I like it. I don't plan to do a perpetual harvest immediately following this one. What I'm going to do is smoke all three plants, and determine which one I like best based on 3 criteria. Flavor, High, and Quantity. Whichever original plant has the best combination of a great flavor, a nice high, and gives me a good quantity of bud, that's the clone that will become my mother plant.
The other 2 clones (assuming they don't die), will then be turned to flower and grown out as my next grow. After THAT grow finishes, then I will continue to take clones off of the mother plant. Make sense?

Yeah, there is definitely lots to think about. It's going to be a LOT easier my 2nd, 3rd, 27th grow... I hope the T5's give me something at least decent, cuz I don't really want to buy another light if I don't have to.
Oh and btw, welcome to the forum! That was a very well thought out first post.

Well it's Monday, and you know what that means. Picture day!

Things are getting a bit crowded around here...

The clones must like the 8W T5, as they all turned directly toward it. I had to move the light to the top of the grow dome. Hopefully they'll straighten out. LOL

The ladies look great. Clones look great. Grow box has me laughing. The only thing I can see in that picture is the weight propping the fan up. That pic should have a caption on it that reads: "You know you are a stoner when the best use for your dumbbell is a prop." Or at least something along those lines... Idk I am pretty toasted so it is prolly a lot less humorous than I think...

Dutch Pimp, yeah, the HO T5's are 54 watt, however I have a small 8 watt T5 taped to the top of the grow dome. It may be a little hard to see in the picture.

I believe I have a solution to the veg area problem.
I really didn't want to have to create a whole new area to take care of the clones, so I thought and thought, and I believe I can turn the white stand I was using before into a small tent. I'll have to work on it tomorrow... pictures to come.

As for tonight, here are the ladies Camara/Watson/Scarlet

I've fallen in love with the citrus smell they leave on my hands after messing with them. Is that weird?

Well it's Wednesday, and you know what that means. Picture day!

Let me start off by saying, this was a busy fucking day. Forgive me if I sound a bit drunk, because I am. It's St. Patty's Day. Concentration on grammar, however, can never be overlooked!

In this post, I'll just show you what the ladies looked like today before starting. The girls got water, and took almost 3 gallons. I wasn't expecting this, and had only pHed and added nutes to 2 gallons of water. Apparently I need to drink milk faster so that I have available jugs. The nutes added were 1.5 teaspoons of Grow Big per gallon for the two gallons that had nutes. The last gallon used was just plain tap, and it was a bit cold. The ladies are very resilient, so I'm not that worried. A little stress here and there is good for em, and they always bounce back stronger than before! :smokin:

I needed a new vegging area for the clones. Common knowledge 'round these parts. So, I figure I might as well use what I already got.

I took the stand I was using before to bring the girls up to the light, and turned it into a tent. I had to remove the legs from the bottom, insert them into the top, and flip the stand over.

Next I took some panda film and wrapped it around 3 sides of the stand, securing it with duct tape.

..and finally I taped a flap to the front of the stand for easy access. Sorry for the over-exposed pic.

Here it is installed above the grow area, on the shelf in the closet.

Here is the stand with the flap lifted up. I taped the 8W T5 to the top of the stand, and put in the grow dome that the clones have been in.

Ta-Da! I have a vegging area separate from my grow area below. I still need to install some permantent ventilation, which will probably be a muffin fan, and make sure the whole setup is light proof.

As if that wasn't enough for one day, I figured I might as well install the screen for the SCROG.

I bought two 88 cent boards at Lowes to use, and some 99 cent paint to paint them white. Next time I'll use the $1.34 boards, as they are a lot straighter than the warped ones I got!
I measured and cut them to the size of the closet, and stapled them together with a staple gun. Then I added hinges in the middle of the screen so that it folds in half for easier installation/removal. Finally, I stapled on the plastic screen. Why plastic? It won't rust, corrode, or grow mold like metal or string would.
I supported the screen with 3 supports. 1 in the back, and 2 pieces of wood on the sides.

Next I put the plants in, and placed them in the "final" positions. I don't plan to move any of them except Watson, who is still too short for the screen. To put them where I wanted them, a bit of bending was required. This really hurt (me), because the girls are almost perfectly uniform on all sides when you view them from above. This method damn well better increase my yield!

Here is a final pic with everything put back into the closet. I'm obviously going to need a new fan situation.

Phew, long day. Happy St. Patty's everyone!

I ran all over the place looking for some fans that fit well into the closet. I really didn't like what I found, so I'll look again tomorrow at a few other places.

    The picture for tonight... Camara/Watson/Scarlet

Note: Some of the lower leaves are starting to yellow due to the plants being so bushy, and the bottom leaves not getting enough light. I'm wondering if I should just trim them off myself, or let them yellow and die.
