DOH assessment report???

someone posted this on the sfreeper.com.. anyone know if this has been done? "shall be a public document" I'd like to see what they have to say about how the program is working..


The Department of Healthâ??s own rules on the Medical Marijuana program require an:

ASSESSMENT REPORT: The department shall evaluate the implementation of the Lynn and Erin Compassionate Use Act and regulations issued pursuant to that act and provide a report to the secretary of the department within one year of the effective date [12-15-2008] of these regulations. In performing its evaluation, the department shall focus on whether the needs of qualified patients are being met by the departmentâ??s administration of the act and whether there is a demonstrable need for a state run production and distribution facility. The departmentâ??s assessment report shall be issued every two years, shall be a public document, and must contain de-identified data upon which the assessment is based.

Hopefully,they will make needed changes to the program soon.

It's shaky it seems to say the least as are most things in life I figure. Man I hope I am right that we have the right compassionate people in places that matter and we'll be able to laugh about this soon! I mean I laugh now but not because it's funny ya heard?

The DOH will issue that report and you can request that it be posted on the DOH medical cannabis website. I bet they will do it if you called them and asked them. Also,all of these reports and stuff wind up at SRCA, in the State Library on Cerillos road in Santa Fe. It takes a while for the State to get all those records sent over there, but anyone that wants to see the report can request to see it through the "freedom of Public Information Act". There should be no problem getting a copy of those findings.

In my opinion we have the best design for a MC program in the US. It will change a lot as it grows. The problems are small compared to other states, and we are growing slowly and carefully to insure that the MC program is sustainable and does not lead to public outcry. It is all good! It is an ugly baby but it will be a beautiful child!

I want to remind you guys that the senators and congressmen dont give us anything. They dont introduce MC legislation. PEOPLE HASSLE THEM and press the issue until they hear us. Until now, people could not stand up for change without fear of arrest. Now we dont have that to fear. There are 1200 patients right now, and my math tells me that there should be at least 1500 more this year if the rate remains steady... about 3000 by 2011. This group has the potential to be a very influential group. Drug policy reform and border issues are both concerns for the future and MC patients are in a very good position to be a natural "solution" to prohibition without legalizing all together. With a robust program, liberal qualifying conditions, and an evolved production and delivery system that did not offend and was not a target for crime and abuse. We are well on the way.
