Do you think I'm elidgible for a MMLicense?
I live in Washington state. I've been having hand problems for the last 2 years, and numorous doctor visits have done nothing. I've had xrays, carpal tunnel scan, multiple cortizone injections, 2nd opinion, but to no avail. The pain comes from the ring fingers of both hands, and manifests to the pinky and middle finger. It feels like they are bruised, and very tingly all the time, and with use it only gets worse. I use to ride dirtbikes, lift weights, and use a hammer to do my day job, but obviously I cant do any of that now. The doctor says it could just be overuse, but seriously, its been forever and I've limited my activity with my hands so much. A lot of typing, mouse use, or even filing papers for 30mins to an hour and I've got to stop. I'm not a total pot head or anything, but when I come home and smoke, it literally makes me feel better. The pain in my hands is just a little more managable, and I can get through my daily activities a little easier.

If you have a medical history of pain then you will probably be qualified. Try contacting a couple of the MMJ doctors. Sign there authorization for your medical history and see what they say. But it looks like you should.

Have you tried warm waxing your hands? A friend who is a guitar player has the same situation and he uses the wax treatment, works for him.
My guess is that you will have to use the "intractable pain" approach , if your doctor is cool then you might be able to convince him that Cannabis is your preferred way of dealing with this pain , instead of having him prescribe pain pills. IF your doctor does not go along then you need to document your ailment ,X-rays,MRI, doctors notes, and take that medical record to one of the clinics, like Sentry,THC clinic, and they will help you. Good luck.:smokin:

absolutely....any type ongoing pain can be treated with cannabis. call some local places that do evaluations and make an appt. Show them your medical history and I'm sure you will be fine.
Lllou2 - I've heard that about the waxing. something about dipping your hands into the paraffin wax 1-2 times a day is supposed to alleviate pain in the joints of your fingers...

Yeh, actually it is bees wax, and it is in like a crock-pot kind of thing that heats the wax to just melting point. You dip your hands in repeatedly until you have several coats built up , after it cools you break it off and put it back into the pot. works for him. And the weed doesn't hurt either.

Sounds like what you really need is a carpal tunnel release, but I was only a Paramedic, so I don't know squat

Not selling myself short at all, I went to the best school in the day at a medical school OHSU. I mean I am not a doctor and should not be giving medical advice. I was the kind of paramedic all the others came to for advice before my injury. Thanks tho

Thanks for the replies. The waxing seems very interesting, and one hell of a mess. So you just take bees wax and melt it, wait for it to cool a little (not to burn the crap out of your hands), then coat the hands? How long has he been doing this and does the pain ever stay away or does it just keep coming back? You'd have to have a station setup and everything if u'd do it twice daily haha. I'm willing to try it though. I guess if your just reusing the wax you wouldn't have to constantly buy more, so price wise it would be a good way to go? I could just imagine a guitar players hands with this condition... makes me shudder.
I had a carpal tunnel scan and it came back negative. I had blood work done recently to check other conditions but it all checks out fine. I will probably make an appt to see a doctor at a specialized clinic instead of going through my normal doctor.
