which set up? new to this

high everyone, im need to the forum but have a little growing experience (made a garden for my senior high project loolzzz) hopefully that help me a lil bit. i been reading a bit on this forum and i bough a growing book that i just started reading. i want to grow hydro but now sure what system to start with. i want to grow 4-6 plants a month a part. this are sum of the inexpensive system that i found.

I would go with the big 6 system. Once you see it you can build them cheap. The drip to me has shown more growth faster than any other I have used.

For small rooms you can scale that down to a ten gallon tub. Try stealth hydro dot com.

What size is your room ?

Of the ones you are considering I would choose the ebb and flow, not that any are going to do better than the other, but simply because there is less that can go wrong. The drippers will probably plug up before the first plants will mature. The bubbler system will only 'bubble' if the stone doesn't get dirty, and the water level is kept EXACTLY at the right height.
However, if you want to have each plant mature one month apart, I would not choose any of them. Consider this: say two weeks before you harvest one, that plant will be say 30" tall. So when you place a newcomer next to the 30" plant, you will have that one maybe 8" tall. Where will you set your light? You obviously will have to stay above the 30" plant, which is too high for the 8" one, so it will become very stretched reaching for the light.
To do this, you will need to have each plant in a separate pot, and place the 8" a foot higher that the 30" one so they get the same amount of light. This can be done in hydroponics .... prolly a drip system (:
I would still use the ebb and flow and forget about harvesting once a month.

trying to have a continous harvest by having plants at different stages will not work in Hydro.....your feeding needs are different at various stages of flowering. The easiest way is to grow in soil to do what you are trying to accomplish....plus less to go wrong with soil! hydro is high maintenance in my opinion! jm .02

AGREED!!! hell i put 3 different plants(all at the same stage of growth) into the same 10 gallon tub with a DWC system. One plant loves the nute levels while the others are getting the shit burned out of them.
If you really want to have a perpetual harvest your going to need a couple of sets of lights so you can have them covering the different heights of the flowering canopy. It is the Ideal way to do it but its xpensive and a little more large scale than i think your trying to go.

thank for all the replies guys. the room is id say 4 by 8. i can be wrong ill double check them measurements next time im over there. sorry for the confusion but i want to harvest 4-6 plants every month so ill have to buy 2 of what ever system i go with for the flowering room. any suggestions on what i should use in the vegetation room? can i get away by having 2 sets of 6 plants a month apart while the still small in one system? of ill have to have 2 different ones in the veg room as well?

To be really frank, I would just go to your local nursery supplier or garden center and pick up 2 say 2ft by 4ft trays, they should be approximately 6" high. One becomes your nutrient tank, the other is where the plants go. Take a couple of small 2x4s, lay them across the nute reservoir, and put your top tray on top so they sit on top of each other. Get the smallest pond pump they have and go to your Home Depot, pick up a few pvc fittings. What you need are two holes drilled in the top tray.... one hole brings the nutes up from the bottom using the pond pump, and the other hole needs to hold a drain to keep the water (nutes) at the level you want. This can be a piece of 8" 1/2" pvc pipe going thru the hole held by a rubber grommet. So if the 8" pipe sticks up 4", then the water level will stay there because it will immediately drain back into the reservoir as soon as it comes to that level. Then get a timer on the pond pump, say turn on 4 times a day for 15 minutes, and you are set to go! The whole thing will set you back very little in comparison what you buy, plus you will know how it works because you've designed it.
Ebb n grow is very much the same, except you don't need the nute tank under each tray, using pumps pumping into the 'pots', and rather than using gravity to drain the pots, it uses another pump at to drain the system. The control unit for one of those is quite costly, and I don't think that would be good for you. A 400 W HPS would be great for that!

SpaceNeedle you are right drippers do clog but we run 1/4 lines with no drip emmiters and have never had one clog. The only thing we have not run yet is ebb and flow. That's mainly because there is no way to run a sea of green in one table. Our 4 x 6 room has a 1000hps and 4 ten gallon tubs with 6 plants each. We harvest 12 plants a month. This allows us to have 2 nutrient zones for beginning and ending of flowering. 2 ebb and flow trays would be good too.

The real trick here is the Sea Of Green. A harvest once a month is no easy task. Your timing of clones and vegging are critical. The flower room is sooo easy. All the real magic happens in the nursery with the mothers.

Think about it. At harvest you need to have another set of plants that were cloned. Almost 2 weeks to root and about 3 to 4 weeks veg depends on the strain. so 2 weeks after a set goes in a new set must be started. This can be a task almost impossible unless your mother room is right.

I would suggest just trying to make it to one harvest first and work on your mother room.
