I'm no expert, but I would hazard a guess and say that snow will work just the same as rain. Just make sure its clean snow i guess, nothin ur friends peed in or that black snow by the road.
All my grows are legal!

    SCREECH: News flash

I just learned rain water can have huge variations in PH. I advise checking the PH after melting. I quit using rain water. EVEN my RO water swings wildly at times.

Snow and rain collect contaminates while still in the atmosphere. I'd test it for ph and TDS before use.

Snow forms around dust particles in the atmosphere. So at the centre of every flake their is going to be a microscopic piece of dust. I don't know, but I would assume that this would mean snow is dirtier than rain.

Rain and snow are from the same source, just at different temperatures. <doh>
Regardless of geographical location...both snow and rainwater is contaminated. (never 'pure') Contamination is not a localized phenomena per se, but can be increased by local industry.
