HERMIE PROBLEM HELP!!!
Ok so my i have two babies in flowering and the lights went out at 3:15 am and today it turned on at 3:15 PM.
I look at the plant everyday from top to bottom before lights out and right when the lights turn on.
I switched the nutes (was using formula flora now using solotech) yesterday and watered both plants right when the lights turned on. ( I gave the plants water and a few days before changing nutes)
So today right when the lights turn on i see 8 nanners on my haze plant, but nothing on the other.
Its a bagseed, and has been growing great, i have others that are in Veg.
Also i before giving it the new nutes i let both dry up, but i did give the other plant a little water the night before switching because it looked worse than this hermie.
Some were just emerging and others looked pretty grown.
I have no light leaks and the only space that would worry me is under the closet door, But i put a towel under there every night. (5 min before lights out)
They are 8 days into flowering.
My question is can a plant hermie over night in the 12 hours of darkness???
And can they grow that fast???
What should i do? I started cutting them off, but my friend said its not worth it.
Could it be genetics since i did get it from bagseed that obviously was a hermie?
Need to know what it could be so i dont run into this problem again...

HERMIE PROBLEM HELP!!!
The quick answer - yes, they can hermie that fast - doesn't usually happen that quickly but it's sometimes really hard to identify a male preflower until it's really obvious... Man, I've been there before - with bagseed you never know what you'll get. You can try to cut the balls off, but really in the end you'll end up with a smoke that's not very potent and therefor could be a waster of time and resources, depending on what else you have growing. You also risk getting some missed pollen on your fems....
As I said, i've been in the same boat before and since switching to only feminized seeds, I haven't had to worry about that nearly as much.

HERMIE PROBLEM HELP!!!
Thanks ^^^
But I felt like since I went all out and have put so much time and money into this I don't know why it happened. I've done so much reading and work so I don't run into this problem. I have genetic seeds that are germing but I figured I'll do some bagseed so I have the experience and never mess up in the future.
I really don't know how it happened are there strains that turn into hernies no matter what?
I have a few more that are germing because of how fast and nice this baby looks. Should I scrap those?

HERMIE PROBLEM HELP!!!
Bagseed is a crap-shoot. If it's gone hermie this early, I'd get rid of the plant. If you've been as careful as you say, then just replace it with another plant. Watch the plants like you have been, but being bag-seed means they could do *anything*. Some of the seeds may grow out problem-free, while others may be nothing but trouble.
Pity the Bag-Seed, most don't know who their daddy is, or for that matter, if their daddy was a daddy at all.

HERMIE PROBLEM HELP!!!
Thanks ^^^
See that's something that I was looking to hear because of the care that had been given to the plant, the bud that it came out of was one of the best I've had so I figured with a little more tlc it would be way more potent and seed free. I think I also forgot to mention that the nanners did not look like they were ready to open they were not even hanging yet like if seen others.(in pics) I did pull it out and place a divider in between the two plants to see if more grow, but now that I'm told all this I'm thinking about scraping her or make something out of her. (any ideas)
Also I'm wondering because this thing grew nanners in that 12 hour Time would it be alright/smart to continue the other bagseed of the same strain that is in Veg? I thought that no matter the strain as long as you grow it right it won't herm?
Sorry for the long post I just want to make sure this won't happen ever again and I appreciate all the help. (I will rep)

HERMIE PROBLEM HELP!!!
So as ive been thinking about what could have possibly hermed this plant, a friend of mine reminded me the stress that it went through in the Veg stage.
When i began to give it nutes the first week and a half (not after sprouting but when it was ready to receive it) it was given an overdose of nutes and it wasn't PH balanced. After i began to see the stem/leaves turn purple i right away knew it was a PH/nute overdose problem so I purchased a PH test kit (included PH up and down) and continued to give it an overdose of nutes even though it was PH balanced.
Well when i finally figured out that the dosage of nutes i had been giving it was almost triple the amount that was recommended i stopped giving it the nutes and gave it water for the remainder of the Veg cycle.
(to give more specific info all the plants went from CFL's to a 400w system during Veg)
Even though the plant took the nutes like a champ and the red/purple color was slowly disappearing I knew the plant was stressed out. So before putting it into flowering it had 2 weeks to recover. Both plants that are in flowering right now where given the same treatment. (the other is a indica dominant and this one is a sativa dominant)
Also the nutes that were given had no information like the Solo-tech I am using right now (NPK). Which is why i switched and gave it time before making any adjustments.
My question now is could the stress that it went through Veg make it herm during the flowering stage? If so why didn't the other herm as well?
I know you guys are saying genetics/bagseed but that only enlightens me and IMO makes me believe that if it isnt the genetics that i will run into these same problems later.
Thank you guys/gals so much as this site has helped me alot and i hope the information and answers you give will help someone who stumbles into this thread.

HERMIE PROBLEM HELP!!!
Not all seeds are created equal. Some strains are very resistant to all different kinds of stress, some strains also like to have more nutrients than others. However some plants will hermie no matter how perfect the conditions are, and some of these will hermie more than others... nothing much you can do about it.
You really have to take each plant grown from seed on a case by case basis. Even feminized seeds of the same strain will show different traits. That's why a lot of people clone, because you know what you're getting with clones - they will be identical to the mother plant. Finish this grow, harvest, and re-veg your best plant and make it a mother, that would be my suggestion.

If you let the he/she grow out, make sure to thoroughly clean the room after, and keep lab habits the whole time so you don't encounter future seeds from the pollen. I would keep doing what you're doing...:hippy:

So i was planning on putting the herm in a blender and make some hash/keif out of he/she.
Any ideas on what i can make so I just dont throw her out?
And i tried giving some rep but it says that i have to spread some around.

HERMIE PROBLEM HELP!!!
I removed he/she from the closet and placed a bag over herj/k
I think trying to make hash will be a lot of work for not much product.
Maybe make some brownies... There are some good recipes around, but personally, I just finely grind up the buds and leaves (but not the thick stems), mix them into a small pot with enough butter to cover them, and cook on low heat (so low that the butter doesn't burn, put some pennies between the pot and stove if you have to) for about 30 minutes, stirring very frequently. Then I take everything and put it into a brownie mix which requires you to add oil/butter, and bake according to the box. Might taste a little 'green', and if you eat a lot of it, your shit will smell like weed
There are other more complicated methods which are probably better, like making cannabutter, but when I tried making it, I had a hard time separating the plant material from the butter, and just ended up putting everything in the brownie mix anyways. Even though all the THC is supposed to combine with the butter, I still think you lose a certain percentage of it in the extra plant material that you throw away.
