Medical Marijuana Sales Taxe Could Save LA City Attorneys
The City Attorneyâ??s office wasted so much time falsely claiming non-profit sales of medical cannabis within collectives are illegal. Maybe if they would have been honest and straight forward on the issue, they may not be facing 100 layoffs out of the 1,000 total slated for the City by the Mayor.
The city administrative officer plans to lay off 1,000 out of 40,000 employees. 100 of which work for City Attorney Carmen Trutanich.
The irony lies with the fact that if LA approved an additional city tax on the non-profit sales of medical cannabis, the city wouldnâ??t have to lay off any city attorneys.
Thus far, the LA City Attorneyâ??s office claims all sales of cannabis are illegal under California law. Maybe if they take another look at the laws and court cases, they could find the truth and save their jobs.
Oakland has adopted a similar city tax which generated $300-700,000 in revenue for the City and Oakland only has 4 Medical Cannabis Dispensing Collectives (MCDCs). LA has atleast 500 MCDCs currently and a populations of 3million residents. Oakland only has 404,000 in its population.

Considering the economic woes of most U.S. cities right now, THIS is the type of story that should be on a national level with the news, press, etc.
WAKE UP AMERICA! And as always....

legalizing, and Taxing marijuana, will only HURT marijuana users :wtf: ... it will NOT 'help' any city, or state, or country's government ... if you've been paying attention, you will plainly see, that the Government, ANY Government, EVERY Government, will just squander and piss away ALL the money they get their hands on, then come back for MORE
... ya didn't listen to common sense regarding Obama, PLEASE listen to it, now ... :smokin:

Sorry my friend but I have to disagree with ya on that one. After having the local Nazi force intrude on my privacy and getting railroaded through a legal system that feels that a child molestor should get less time than a grower; I'd pay the tax and be thankfull that I wouldn't have to deal with these inbred idiots again!

WTF? I think you made a typo or two. Legalizing and taxing cannabis only hurts the illegal growers and distributors and the law enforcement who benefit from busting people (and taking their money).

"Common Sense"? Right! It sounds like paranoid, conspiracy-theory sense, not so common.
I've been paying attention and been very active in medical cannabis politics and activism for a couple years now and I know that Oakland has used it tax money wisely which had helped patients and the city at large.
As far as national news, we're working on it. Medical Marijuana Media will have a media release that will be released next week. Keep an eye out for it.
