    Foliar Feed Vs High Humidity

Getting signs of low himidity stress in my veg room (16% humidity, lots of air flow out of the room and now getting canoeing leaves))

Will foliar spraying once a day substitute for a higher humidity? Twice a day?

Shoud I turn off my MH lights to avoid burning the leaves, leaving room lights on so as not to trigger flowering, and foliar spray (wet) the leaves once a day to add back the moisture lost to evaporation? (ph 6.0 water with no additives?)

Should I use an additive in the spray... any suggestions?
    Thanks GOG

Yes, you can spray straight water to help with low humidity, and Yes, you should either raise of turn off the HID lights.

Thanks for the get-back on this. Spoke with a commercial grower yesterday and he said they spray lightly several times a day. Their setup has misters that add back the moisture that's lacking out here.

It's little tidbits like this that can make a huge difference for a "personal use" basement MMJ grower like me... really good trade secrets like this are nuggets of info when you find them. This option to low humidity is far better than trying to humidify a room that's replacing it's air every hour... foliar spraying (for me -- and for others) now becomes a new technique for maintaining "humidity" in veg room environments without running a humidifier... a definite benefit to the electric/water bill.

I now consider Foliar Spraying as a method of suplimenting low humidity problems. My plants are loving this shit! WOW... I wish I would have known sooner. I guess I've never found it listed for as a remedy for low humidity... otherwise I wouldn't have had to ask it here... and many thanks for the reply on this.

Sometimes I think the logical, obvious solution to plant problems are supressed by a general fear of the unknown; to experiment with even the most basic of fixes can kill a plant in less than a day. I know because I've done it. Lose a few big girls and it will stop you in your tracks to slow down, evaluate, research, ask, investigate to find what I call the "Thread of Truth" on the best path to take to remedy the situation. This self inflicted paranoia can be paralizing when your plant shows signs of a problem and you're not sure if it's one thing or the other. When you read and see pics of leaves where everyone is trying to decide if it's too many nutes, not enough nutes, watering too much or not enough, too much of whatever... not enough of the other. For newbies like me it's enough to call it quits... but I haven't and won't now that it's coming together.

I look at trade secrets like this... a trade secret is just like a secret recipe for some world famous lasagna dish. Sure, I can find out what goes into it, when, and how to put it all together. Does it mean I have the skills, knowlege base, common sense or most importantly the fortitude and committment to make it work? Atrition is a beautiful thing when it weeds out those who thought they wanted to grow... only to find out how much work it really is. In my chosen career I am self taught... and have never hesitated to teach and share with those who are learning the trade. The good Karma I've gained has been a blessing and never once have I regretted it.

So, perhaps someone should list this in the search field as a remedy for low humidity? Again, if I have missed this in my searches, please accept my apology... I couldn't find it. Please show me what I missed so I can beat myself upside the head!

    Happy growing!

Growing is definitely not for people who give up easily. I'm glad you're doing your research rather than calling it quits. Personally I love it, Its a great hobby, and there is always room for improvement.

I know it sounds lame, but I want to be like Conrad from the show Weeds. To just be able to grow crop after crop after crop of perfect, delicious, flawless bud would be great.
