Yes daytimer - it does work. I have bi-lateral carpal tunnel with tendonitis in hands, wrists, forearms, elbows, and shoulders. Basically - my arms and shoulders are toast - and tendonitis is very painful.
I manage my pain primarily with edibles - and adjust pain management with smoking or vaping.
Only ever so rarely do I take an Ibuprofen 800 to help with pain management - only when I have really exceeded my limitations for a day.
My caregiver here in Montana makes tinctures and candies, as well as baked goods when called for. They have a constant supply of butter ready for patients baking needs.
I am highly opposed to the pharmaceutical industry - and all the toxins and chemicals involved. When the symptoms of the pill are worse than the ailment - something is seriously wrong - IMHO.
Good luck with your pain management - hope you get to be released from the fog of the codones and potential addiction.
Best wishes to you my friend......

Not only does it work, it works better than narcotic pain meds with no side effects other than couch lock and munchies, both of which are manageable.
I have psoriatic arthritis, spondlyosis, failed fusions, DJD, and DDD. It helps me manage my pain and the associated muscle spasms.
I have terrible side effects from narcotics, I would rather deal with the pain most of the time. Non-steriods (NSAIDS like ibuprofen) make my stomach bleed, even if just given a shot.
I am still alive, and I don't think I would have continued to want to live without the assistance of this awesome medication. (I am 57 and ready to move to the next world away from this pain at any time.)
It also provided me with a hobby of growing the medication. That is one of my greatest joys in life nowadays. (I used to ski, golf, hike, hunt, fish.....all those things are past tense now.)
Obviously the choice is more difficult in a State where it is not legalized for medical use.
I wish you best in your dilemma. There may be surgical options that you can follow?????

Will someone hire you since your smoke or does your state not drug test? How does that work?

Drug testing is up to the employer.
I assumed I could not pass an employment test, so I just started my own business to supplement my medicare.

Hello,
Hope you don't mind replying to your post? I'm in the same situation as you - pain most of the time....I hate meds and refuse to use them....glucoma, arthritis that kills....I can't find anyone here in Dallas that knows much about WW....Just pot heads and rip offs....
I suppose I could learn to grow as you have....Do you have good suggestions on the process indoors, and what's required...
Thanks for help/suggestions.
John in Dallas.

There is a fair sized collection of scientific studies on the effects of cannabis on many types of pain in my MMJ list linked below. Just click the link and then start scrolling down until you get to the section on "Pain".
Please use my list for more than personal confirmation that cannabis is a pain killer. I would like you to share the studies with three types of people.
First your doctors. Medical schools do not teach about cannabis, other than the government line. Our doctors need to know what cannabis can do. If you don't want to "out" yourself, you can always send the studies by mail- no return address needed!
Secondly, your politicians. Finding their email and snail mail addresses is just a search away! They are the ones we must educate! They often BELIEVE the old BS that Anslinger and the DEA created. Unless they have something to convince them otherwise, they will continue to believe the BS! So mail them study after study- eventually the facts will sink into their skulls!
The last group is your friends and family. Even among conservatives, MMJ is often acceptable. Let them read the medical facts and decide for themselves.
Texans deserve (and should demand) the right to choose their own medical treatment- whether pharmaceutical drugs, or natural herbs like cannabis!

Just to confirm everything previously stated, it absolutely does work. It's incredibly helpful for pain management and, in particular for me, muscle spasms. My back will seize up to the point that I can't move without being in excruciating pain. I'm not much of a whiner but I start bawling due to pain when this happens. Luckily, I can feel it start to seize and I just grab my vaporizer or the nearest pipe and take a hit, and it's gone. I don't even need enough to make me "high" for it to work.
I would recommend writing to local legislature and get involved with your local Norml chapter if you want to stay in Texas. You could also move to one of the many medical friendly states.
Take care,
recliningbuddha

Something that isn't often mentioned is the synergistic effects of using cannabis with opiates.
