True dat Redtails about the rain. It always seems to come after washing the car, fertilizing, spraying weeds, etc. I have a feeling we won't see much rain again unitl late summer when the monsoons (thunderstorms) arrive.

The pics show noticable growth on most. The ones at 4 weeks (see file name on first pic below) were stunted by too much sun until we folded down the shade cloth. Only one died, it looked like a bug chopped it at the stem. the 3 week area never gets direct sun and is doing well.

Soil Ph was high, above 8. Amonium Sulfate was added to instantly lower soil PH and give a nice shot of 21-0-0 N for the spring time. I also added Sulfur for longer term adjustment. They are looking very nice and dark green except for a few that yellowed from all the watering after the applications above.

If you wanted to raise the Ph you'd rather add some lime.
