Well, the only developmentally challenged person that I know of that is actually funny is Sarah Palin. Now she's funny.

Why are so scared of sarah palin Gypski? I couldnt live with so much hate and intolerance inside of me.....unless I only believed freedom applied to those who aligned themself with MY beliefs and my beliefs alone. Like......freedom of speech is AWSOME....unless its something I dont like then it should be banned!! You folks are just as bad as the religous right......just far more pious and snooty. The only things funny about this are the morally challenged who think its funny. I've worked with the Special Olympics and seeing developmentally challenged compete in a number of athletic events and see their smiles when they accomplish the smallest achievements and get a medal shows some there is a human inside. Try working with developmentally challenged, and you will see how fortunate you really are. Comments like this just show how degrading some can be over an others misfortune. You should count your blessings that it doesn't happen to you. It would be a fitting punishment. :wtf:

Isn't it fucked up you have to witness something to prove that? No shit there is a human inside, its just a slower, less functional person, that happens to be amusing to watch. I've made friends with plenty of mentally challenged people, smoked with a couple. My aunt teaches them.

I didn't have to witness it to prove it to me, that was intended for those who think it funny. And they don't have to agree with me either. I don't find making fun of them is funny. Not even stoned. Like I said, I worked in a group home with those people both male and female. I, along with other staff had to do most tasks that we take for granted for them. Like sometimes bathing, eating, and directing them to keep on tasks they can complete and occupy their day. I may have laughed at some of their antics while working with them and laughing with them, because they do have a sense of humor within them. But I don't laugh at them. And they all hated to seem me leave when I left.

And it doesn't make me any kind of lefty or any other political entity. Maybe we should go back to infanticide of those we now know may be, to use the words some prefer, retarded. Some may even find that more to their liking since these people draw social security checks. Like Michele Bachman.

I think folks make those kind of comments because they are uncomfortable about the interaction they have with the mentally and physically challenged.

Having worked in the medical field for many years, we joked about that stuff between ourselves, but we still had the compassion and respect for these unfortunate people. Count your blessings. Try living with one as your child.

I am glad however that since I mocked the reporter who labeled this poor child, someone thinks that means that apparently anyone who thinks its funny is "uncomfortable with the handicapped."
