    A few things,
do you have a fan in there?
    how close are the lights?
why are you running 24 hours? try a normal 18/6 cycle

you don't have to much light in there, that's not the cause of your problems.

ok ill try the 18/6 hour cycle i been doing 24 because thought it would help out more during the start process.

the lights were about 4 1/2 feet away before but not rigged it to where they are about a 1 to 2ft away.

and yes a fan is in there

i got a seedling about that same age. im running 4cfls maybe 3" away. the cfl can be put very close to the plant and this will help keep them short. with 6 bulbs you can get them down about 5" or closer as long as you got some air flowing.

Overlighting with CFLs?? LMAO... no it is not possible. Theoretically maybe, but not in any practical application.

Have you researched or read up at all about indoor growing very much? You may want to read about lighting again... You'll want those CFLs way closer than 2 ft! Many people keep 1000W HID lighting closer than you're keeping your CFLs (which run with very little heat). The reason you keep your plants far from the light to begin with is to avoid the heat. With fluorescents, you can keep your plant within a few inches of the lights. MOVE THEM CLOSER!! That's probably why you're not seeing growth.

But read up in the lighting section because I don't know much about CFLs... they may run a little hotter than regular fluorescents. But honestly I think fluorescents is a waste of time. I guess for some people fluorescents are better than nothing... and you could use them to learn on and then you'll have better results when you do get HID lighting.

cfl's and fluorecents all have there place in growing. cfl work great for veg, nice short nodes and bushy plant, i cant keep my hid down anywhere close heat build up will murder them. now i wouldn't try to flower on cfl but many people have done it with suprising sucsses. to the OP get them lights down like we have said and you should be on your way.

your lights are too far away. move them to about an inch away from the tops of the plants. the closer the better, CFLs cant burn them unless they are practically touching.

yea i mean i know the CFL's cant really burn them but i ment more in the sense that i was running a 24hour a day cycle lighting them but im going to move them down real close.

I Think i may have been impatient they are starting to look good ill post pics soon my first grow!!

theres nothing wrong with a 24 hour cycle. people may argue that 18/6 is better but in my personal experience 24hr works just as well. its all about your personal preference.
