Lordsburg and Deming are within 100 miles of the border. Deming is bigger and Lordsburg has always been a dope hot spot. Eventhough there is a direct southbound round directly from Deming to Columbus into Palomas,Chihuahua,Mexico. With all of the narcos right along the border I just don't think they'd hassle you too much up in Deming. You must also realize that with the B.LO. product up for grabs and all of the territory as well this war has just begun. Right not Juarez is the hot spot but that can and will change as these POS's fight.

Now what they do have are what I believe are "trackers", as you drive past a checkpoint there are these lights,cameras, x rays I guess. I really don't know. I believe they use them to see how frequently you are coming and going. So say you make your deliveries and head back with absolutely no Cannabis material in your van. You will be stopped at the checkpoint because the dogs will go crazy smelling the remants of MMJ. The officer would probably smell it too. I don't know how you package it but something to consider. If Slayer is correct that would be my guess as to why they up north no longer deliver past the checkpoints and back. The point is that over time they will figure out what you are doing and could end up getting you with a big load before you can deliver it. I hope that clarifies more,if not. If you are a current Medical Marijuana Card Holder please let me know what city you live in. Also let me know if your area has adequate service or not. I have a potential doctor already interested and know of one card holder. If I can find an area that makes economic sense I believe I am going to try to open a facility for production. Ever seen Easyrider? There is a reason why Dennis loved Taos so much. You can get anything you want there. Just realize that the population increases immensely in the summer so if that's what you want to do start "blending" in now. For living in LC for 30 years you really don't seem to "know the ropes". Where is the checkpoint on I-10?? Have they build another between Deming and Lordsburg? The facilty on 25 is not brand new,they added a truck and bus lane. Why did you call every doc in SFE and not Cruces? Hmmm Trained officers? The officers are well trained and they get the job done. The I-25 checkpoint went from one awning and a shack to 3 acres of awnings at a cost of $3 million so I called it "new", and my age and time here are of paramount importance.

Yes, you are correct. there is no actual "checkpoint" on the highway past the Mirage exit. You can drive to Las Cruces, Deming, Lordsburg, without a federal check. Still, if you are anywhere within the 100 mile line they can stop you and search you, no probable cause except they wanted to.

The gangs would steal your shit. Just like Cali only much worse. The valley is lousy with organized gangs moving drugs and stuff. If you had 95 plants they would jack you up in a heartbeat if they saw a way. The cops would resent protecting you.

First let me say thank you for all the input. I don't want to dwell or seem slow however I am a little confused with the statements.

In my mind that would be the way to go you could hit two semi and one heavily populated area.

However there is such a large population base in Las Cruces that that in it self should be enough of a customer base to grow (no pun intended) into with out trying to distribute product west.

As far a Cartels I do not think at this time they will think of the operation as a big threat. I mean they have a huge customer base while the producers only have 1K people for the whole state. My real concern would be robbery (perhaps from the Cartels) similar to what happened in California. Besides all they can do is beat me up, torture, and kill me. The Feds can lock me up and that would be worse than death it self.

Bottom line: Your best bet to open up a Production for the Las Cruces area would be to locate it on the other sside of a checkpoint,then DELIVER to the LC area and only transport as much as you are delivering.That way you have nothing left when you return and go through the checkpoint.

While I admire your candidacy I am looking for Medicinal Marijuana users. This is a great privilege they are allowing and I do not want to even imply I am going to do something illegal.

Sounds like you need to grow your own. There are a lot of good videos on youtube that can help you accomplish this goal.

Also we must realize that it has to be economically feasible to maintain the business. There will be a lot of start up costs and continued expenses the largest will be Rent, Electric, Employees, and Taxes.

To think that this would be for pure fun is a fantasy it will have to be a business. A legal business as I do not want to go to jail or bring bad attention to a privilege so many have fought for.

The north/south thing has always been a big issue in NM. The north has always in my opinion viewed any person who lives south of ABQ as a second class citizen. Santa Fe draws the people it does and Madrid isn't far away,heck most all of highway 14 is hella 420 friendly so in this case I understand. It still isn't right though. The south needs product as do most. If you look at our area code map of the state I would say that everyone who is 575 is in need. Hey Slayer say we had a place in Cruces... how do you think it would go getting past the migra? I'm sure they'd be trying real hard to see if people were "under the influence" but legally does what Obama told the DEA apply to the Border Patrol too? I would assume it would but I don't like feeling like an ass. Especially if it involved me going to jail in federal custody!

I think one of the main difficulties is that Northern NM=liberal and Southern NM=conservative.

Plaomas is a little hell. The whole border is. The small towns like Lordsburg and Deming may look good logistically, but I think T or C is better politically. You could pull it off there easily and the locals would generally accept. T or C is a cool place. Lots of connections between Las Cruces and T or C and there is the same amount of checkpoints seperating you and the larger market. It is culturally more like Silver City, which would be my second choice. There have always been some awesome patches up by Mimbres and Pinos Altos. Probably lots of MC patients as well.

Not all the Producers up north have stopped delivering to the southern part of the state,just some have.I'm sure another reason is that there are more Producers now.The smart ones can still deliver to las Cruces by making it their last stop.
