    Under served areas?

    Hello,

I am curious to find what area of NM is under served. If you are a current Medical Marijuana Card Holder please let me know what city you live in. Also let me know if your area has adequate service or not.

I have a potential doctor already interested and know of one card holder. If I can find an area that makes economic sense I believe I am going to try to open a facility for production. Unfortunately do to confidentiality the state will not divulge under served areas.

Thanks to all patients for your assitance,

This is big business for the courts, jails, counseling, and police power it is a form of oppression that still rages today.

    Under served areas?

I have read through the forum and realize that the state as a whole is under served. However when speaking with the state they mentioned that one of the criteria they are now looking at is areas of necessity.

An email from the state answering questions I had

    1. producers are licensed based upon patient needs which does include service area. The program is however restricted in revealing locations of current licensed producers due to confidentiality.
    2. proposals are being accepted, complete proposals do not constitute a guarantee of license.
    3. no proposals have been denied at this time since the program is new and capacity is not yet known.

    Any input is appreciated
    Thanks,

    Under served areas?

I could be selfish and say that the Four Corners area is under-served. Which it is. But, the whole state needs more producers. As far as I'm concerned, the best answer would be Albuquerque.

I know Las Cruces is "dry". I have a friend w/ a card and he goes to SFE to get his Cheese. New Mexico government at it's finest! Come down south and produce legal product. They way this has gone so far I'm afraid has resulted in too many legal users buying illegal blood schwag.

Sam, I wouldn't consider it selfish to say Four Corners. Like you said, the whole state needs help. Let's just hope DOH sees it too.

    Under served areas?

The whole southern part of the state is underserved.
So far,all of the approved Producers are up in the northern part of NM.

The north/south thing has always been a big issue in NM. The north has always in my opinion viewed any person who lives south of ABQ as a second class citizen. Santa Fe draws the people it does and Madrid isn't far away, heck most all of highway 14 is hella 420 friendly so in this case I understand. It still isn't right though. The south needs product as do most. If you look at our area code map of the state I would say that everyone who is 575 is in need. Hey Slayer say we had a place in Cruces... how do you think it would go getting past the migra? I'm sure they'd be trying real hard to see if people were "under the influence" but legally does what Obama told the DEA apply to the Border Patrol too? I would assume it would but I don't like feeling like an ass. Especially if it involved me going to jail in federal custody!

I will be in contact with the state to ask further questions and this is a very good question pertaining to intrastate distribution crossing check points.

I can not find where I read it easily however I know that when you go through a check point it is federal property and not NM. Therefore in my mind this would be an issue; in addition I think the same applies to Airports. As a producer I would not want to chance delivery Federal Transport would be the thing to loose the licensee and mostly bring negative attention to a volatile situation not to mention jail time.

    Under served areas?

The answer is on the DOH website
Medical Cannabis Program - Infectious Disease Bureau

Q: Can I use medical cannabis anywhere in New Mexico?
A: No. It is illegal to possess or use medical cannabis in a public vehicle, on school grounds or property, in the workplace of the patient or primary caregiver, or at a public park, recreation center, youth center or other public place. The law does not provide protection on federal property such as airports, immigration check-points and federal parks. It is still illegal to operate a motor vehicle while under the influence of cannabis.

Las Cruces probably would not be a great location for a Producer as almost any direction that you go from there has a checkpoint and the job of each checkpoint is to seize illegal substances and persons without the right to be in this country.I highly doubt that the border patrol will make any exceptions for state laws.
Cali has had MMJ for a while.......you might want to research the amount of marijuana seizures at their immigration checkpoint(s).
