First good go at a grow(still newbish)

This is technically my second grow, but the first time was one plant in a maybe HALF gallon pot under a desk lamp, turned out to be male anyway.

So, i cleaned out one of my closets, got some buckets and soil, and decided to give a real go at it. I've got three 5 gallon buckets filled with about 5 parts poting soil, 1 part peat moss, and 1 part perlite. And with leftover potting soil i decided why not try another in my small potter. I've put 4 seeds in each bucket and 2 in the small pot. This is in hopes that i can get at least 1 female in each.

My lighting situation was originally a half-cocked plan to use two ~23" cabinet fluorescent fixtures and a splitter in a tall lamp for 2 CFLs. This was before i got a pleasant surprise; i'm just chasing my cat to get in the damn house and he gets up in the rafters of my shed just chilling on top of some boxes, shop light boxes, fucking like 8 of them. so i got shop lights now.

Bagseed, allegedly KB, nuff said i think.

Its about 8 days into it now, i only set up the shop light a day ago so i think the lack of light has caused the plants to reach a bit. Since i had more soil leftover and room to spare in the buckets, i put some in to bury the lower part of the stems. Picture time now i guess. And i do lower the shop light a few inches from the plants, raised it for sake of picture.

i would take them out of the same pots and start them in some keg cups or something .. its bad news when you have more then 1 plant in the same pot

Bump for what above post said. Your shooting yourself in the foot with the set up you got going now because you run the risk of hurting one of the "good ones" that you may like to keep to get her away from the "bad ones". Solo cups (like the ones for beerpong) work awesome for me for atleast the first week or so.

Do you have any idea how many plants you would like to finish the grow with?

How many lumens you running in threre? Your just gonna have load those CFL's in there and keep at them. :hippy:

Day 14 now. I've taken measures to keep the roots away from each other.
_____My original intent was to pick the 3 best females and give each their own container. but depending on how many females turn up i'll likely get a couple extra containers.
_____My best guess is that i've got about 13,500 lumens altogether. But i've only hung up one of the shop lights, if i put the other one up that'll bring the total to just under 20,000 lumens. But i figure that shouldn't be necessary for a couple more weeks, unless anybody thinks i should add it now.
_____And Picture update(i've been forced to take the pictures with my crappy camera-phone):

    DAY 21-
not much to say, i have moved several of the smaller plants into smaller containers, and they all seem to be doing very well. planning to veg for maybe another 1-5 weeks, trying to get them at about 2 feet first.

    Day 28-
Pretty much just a picture update. tallest is 8 or 9 inches. And i think i've decided to flower at day 40 (maybe 42 to make it an even 6 weeks).

Your plants look great man! You're going to have big plants if you're waiting another 14 days to flower.

    Plants look good

Next time though, just one container per plant. They will eventually start fighting for water and food, and only one will win...:wtf:
