Even w/o heat issues, is there such a thing as too much light?
I just got the smallest growlab chamber as a replacement for my DIY CFL rubbermaid growbox. Also got a 150 W HPS and damn is that thing an improvement. I also have 2 42 W 6400K CFL's hanging to give it a little blue light as I heard a mix is best.
So that 16000 lumens from the HPS, 2600 Lumens from each CFL, that's over 20,000 lumens in a 1.5x1.5 foot area with just one plant. It's not hot in there or anything so heat isn't an issue but can there ever be just too much light for a plant? I feel like maybe if there is such a thing, 21200 lumens in a 2.25 sq ft area isn't enough to make that an issue.
What do you guys think? Am I actually giving an MJ plant too much light?submast3r Reviewed by submast3r on . Even w/o heat issues, is there such a thing as too much light? I say no,
You are using double the light for square foot area (going by jorge cervantes) and i had asked this question before and i always get the same answer (no theres no such thing as to much light)

I've bleached a few with high power leds, but never with cfls
You're fine, SM.
Gotta watch the heat from the HPS, but the CFLs aren't overkill.
They should help keep the internodes distance short and counter-act the HPS stretch.
Think I'll hang around and watch this one.

Too much light and too much bud go hand in hand. If you for some weird reason want less bud, go with less light.
