Yup, start off at at least 3 feet with that kind of light. You can even get by with some 23w CFL's (<one for each plant) or even one T5 for the first week, but these lights must be kept close to the seedlings to avoid stretching.

I've tried several times to grow my own medication and everytime my seedlings die off. The seeds are good quality and they are rooting in discs using a green house effect. I have them under a 400 Watt Metal Halide Light and the temp is steadily at 78 degrees. I get the two round leaves and then get the first fan leaves and they grow to about 2 to 3 inches. After that point they die. I have a watering schedule of Rating: 5
