Vaping cannabis in e-cigs?

I have been using an e-cig with the usual fluids as an alternative to cigarettes and my mind strayed to the possibility alternative fills :jointsmile: As an alternative/way of giving up cigs, I'd heartily recommend them (you can use nicotine based or nicotine free fluids with lots of nice flavours)

I'm wondering if they could be adapted for our favourite smoke in one form or another? After all, they are vaporising the normal mix, albeit a liquid on a synthetic fibre. The heater element is pretty small so I don't know if suffient heat/contact area is available. If you are unfamiliar with the technology, take a look of YouTube or Google it as I don't want to get accused of spamming.

I can see quite a few advantages to a discrete and easily portable spliff substitute.
