    Cram 'em in there!

    Hi Green friends,
Lets say, this friend of mine, has a small high powered flowering space of 2' x 2.5' = 5 sf. It's got good ventilation, mylar reflectivity, a 400W air cooled/sealed HPS and plenty of ceiling height. If things get out of control (too tall and crowded) warm cfl's are at the ready to boost another 10,000 lums down in between the plants. My friend has the usual questions:

-How many plants to scrog in there? (I'm guessing 4 well manicured plants)
-How much yield can be hoped for? Assuming White Widow's start flowering at about 12+" or so and almost 2 months old from seed. (my Friend is hoping for about 8+ ounces (half pound).
-5 gal pots would be better than 3 gal, right? (why not?)

Just for background, it's a soil grow. Water so far is rain water PH'd to runoff readings. Nutes are miracle grow all purpose switched to bloom booster, vitamin B-1, Super Thrive, yada, yada, yada.........

YES I'm still reading, you know, for my friend of course.

    Thanks much,
    Doc Oc :smokin:

And if you scrog and things get all intertwined and grown in- I guess you can't take the pots out to flush? How would that be done? You'd need a drain on your drip pan/floor? :wtf:
    Thanks again, Doc Oc

And btw, can some buds chip in some more special RED reputation nugets? They look cool, along with the green ones it's like Christmas all year.

With that setup, 2oz. per plant is reasonable. Definitely get the 5 gal pots, but remember to transplant several times before this. You don't want them sitting in those 5 gals for much more than 2 months, as you will start to have ph problems.

For the scrog, you are correct, it will be difficult to flush them, take them out to turn them, etc. etc., unless you give each plant it's own screen. It would be good to figure out someway to catch water run-off not just for flushing, but regular waterings as well (you want a little run-off each time, maybe 10% of the total water you give them)

If you are planning to scrog, you will also need to do some LST first, perhaps even some topping or fimming (up to you, I don't like topping or fimming because of the long recovery times)

Here's a nice scrog, lots of good info: http://boards.cannabis.com/closet-ca...ly-ladies.html
