    PLZ Help with Clones...

I have some lavander clones and only a few are sowing a little roots. Should I trim the fan leaves? If so how do I cut them. Also some of the leaves go from light green in the center to a darker green towards the tips. They were under 4fluorescents but I read that they dont need much light so I cut back to just 2 flueorescents bulbs.

How long have they been in the rockwool?
They look like they're doing fine. I cut back about half the leaf on my fan leaves when I transplant.

Do you have a dome cover for the tray that you have the clones sitting in? If not you need one. The secret to cloning is humidity in the grow space. You obtain this by mist spraying the inside of the dome several times a day with ph'ed water only. Do not spray water on the clones. The rockwool cubes you are using need to be kept damp and not soaking wet. The lighting you are using at present is perfect. Personally I do not cut my leaves anymore. I could never see or tell any difference by cutting the leaves and if you can not see or tell a difference why do it.

thanks for the replies. I have a dome over them and I do spray the inside of the dome, they are just lagging on showing any roots.

They're looking fine so far, have some patience.
Light kills roots. So when roots do show, deal with the clone asap. Either transplant, or shade from the light. (make sure there are roots before transplanting though)
Often, the fans start to yellow and die. You can cut-back the dead fingers of the fans, (like cutting fingertips off of a glove) but only if necessary. Sometimes they don't yellow and die.
