    Can I use MAMA?

I don't have any records pertaining to my condition for about 5 years. I have not seen my current doctor in over 3. I had lower lumbar disc surgery about 8 years ago due to a ruptured disc and sciatic nerve troubles. I don't take narcs or anything but there is not a day that goes by that I do not wish that I could use cannabis as a pain relief form. I hate vicodin, and the strong painkillers. On the days when it hurts bad I usually take aleve, well over the recommended dosage.

If I had my records sent to MAMA would they even take a look at me? I can prove of problems I have had in the past, surgery, physical therapy etc.. but I can't prove of anything within the past two years. I don't know anyone to get me cannabis and I my main scource of income is Social security which would make it difficult to afford anyhow. MY SSI is based on a mental illness which I have kept under control with meds for over 10 years.

    Thanks.

    Can I use MAMA?

Just wanted to add that I am going to make an appointment with my Dr. to discuss my back pain(once again) and ongoing pain in my knees and feet. I haven't smoked pot in quite some time but with all of these ailments as of late I really have been giving it some thought.

I think without any kind of documentation most Doc's would deny you. Mainly because well not that you would but you could be completely making it up. They want to see a paper trail in case the Feds try to start pointing fingers. Oregon has a law called "lesser of Evils". So you don't technically need a OMMP card. Without the card however you will go to jail and be thrown into legal system. You may eventually beat the charge/s, but man what a waste of money. Starting getting medicals records formed. Do it legit and you'll have no worries.

I would get any records you can before calling. Even mention that you have managed pain with cannabis use, on a friends suggestion.

    Can I use MAMA?

I just got off of a chat with a doctor through Health magic.com and she gave me a tenative diagnosis of spondylitis/spondylosis. IT has to do with my cervical spine and problems that stem from the back problems I already have I guess. I am making an appt with my dr today.

I asked about marijuana to the doctor who was from India and she said her advice is to save that as a last option. I of course think it's a better option than pain killers. But this will at least get some records in the book for my card.

Kind of sad that I have to have some sort of degenerative spine disease to use marijuana though.

Okey dokey, you got real spine issues. Unfortunately you have no recent docs to prove. BUT. On SSI, you should have Medicare? That should cover doctor visits and an MRI. That should be enough for a real doc to consider it.

But, they will want you to use narcs first...ugh. Of course they don't work for shit on real pain from spondylolisthesis, but the cannabis will if you get the right strain/genotype. Yes tell the doctor you (as a side not) were fed a brownie from a friend laced and wow, you felt so much better!!! A real doc can write for Marinol or the generic dronabinol. Of course that stuff doesn't work for crap, but it puts you on the path. "ya, doc, it helped more than the narcs, but not that much, so I went to that friend and smoked some and wow.'

Get the idea? You will not be able to just walk in and get a mmj card, even with your issues (which are very common after such surgery).

I have spondyolisthesis in my neck after a 4 level fusion. I do understand.

I had my appt with my dr today. They want to try physical therapy before anything else. No pain meds or anything. I did however get the ball rollin on records from my previous surgeon and doctors being transferred to my current dr. That way when I go to have my records sent for a card they are all in one place.
