question about search
Can the police search your house because your landlord said he smelled marijuana in the house? If they can search and they find lights and nutrients and such but no marijuana can you still get in trouble?

I'm not sure if your landlord can get you in trouble but he probably can because you are a tenant in his house. Its not illegal to own lights and nutrients. Make sure You do not have any old stalk ore leaves hiding around somewhere or then your equipment is illegal.

question about search
thanks, I feel a little better. What happened is my wife went to the office to talk to them about our rent being overdue because we got a letter saying we would be evicted if rent was not paid by a certain date. My wife asked to have an extension and this is when they told her that not only is the rent overdue but the landlord said he could smell marijuana when he replaced the fan in the washroom (which was about 2 months ago and never heard anything about it until now). My wife told them we have no marijuana and they said that they would get the police to investigate it. Does investigate necessarily mean search your house?
